I was just looking at IMDb and seeing what George Clooney has coming up next year. I know he will be nominated for producing this year for Argo but next year. WOW!  He of course hasThe Monuments Men which he is directing, acting, producing and writting. He is also producing August: Osage County and acting in Gravity. He has the chance of getting 6 nominations for himself, has that ever been done before?

I’m pretty certain both Orson Welles (1941) and Warren Beatty (1978 + 1981) were nominated for 4 awards on the same night.

    Actor
    Director
    Best Film
    Best Screenplay

And I have feeling that Fran Walsh may have been nominated for 4 one year as as well.

Though Welles was a producer of Kane, until 1949 the best picture Oscar and nominations went to the studio, not the producer(s)

Wasn’t it George Clooney? Producer, Director, Writer for Good Night and Good Luck, and a nomination/win in Supporting Actor for Syriana.

I don’t believe Orson Welles counts, no. Beatty probably does though.

Despite the fact that the academy didn’t recogize the individual producers of best pic nominees until much later in the game…producers still produced a best pic nominee and I count it, irregardless of the fact they didn’t get an actual certificate of nomination.  Same goes for those write in candidates in 1934 & 1935 that placed in the top 3 final votes.

Well, then the same role should be with Foreign Movie… but it only happen the first year… later on it was the award to the country and not to the producers/director of the movie.

Walt Disney is the most nominated person in one night and the one that won the most. It was post in the begin of the thread.

George Clooney wasn’t a producer of Good Night, Good Luck.

Warren Beatty was nominated 4 times in one night two times, the first for Heaven Can Wait and then for Reds, he won the director award for the latter.

The Coen brothers received four nominations for “No Country for Old Men”. They won Best Picture, Directing and Adapted Screenplay. The fourth nomination (Editing) was under the pseudonym Roderick Jaynes.
