Im curious what film you were shocked got a Best Picture Nomination in the first place. Either a good surprise or a big wtf.March 9, 2017 at 3:44 pm #1202033317
Argo and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close were big huge WTFs
Amour was an amazing surpriseMarch 9, 2017 at 3:55 pm #1202033325
Argo won Best Picture/Cast at the Golden Globes, SAG, Critics Choice, BAFTA, numerous critics groups as well as PGA (and WGA and DGA)March 9, 2017 at 3:57 pm #1202033327
The Blind Side…….I will never forgive that nomination EVERMarch 9, 2017 at 3:58 pm #1202033328
Tree of Life surprised me nicely, because it seemed so experimental for Oscar taste.
Crouching Tiger also surprised me because I didn’t expect the amount of nominations/wins it received in Oscars. Especially since it’s an East Asian film with no English and all Asian Cast.
Yall know how I feel about Extremely Loud and Fences. Lol bye.March 9, 2017 at 4:24 pm #1202033340
Winter’s Bone. I always forget that was even nominated.March 9, 2017 at 4:24 pm #1202033341
Four Weddings and a Funeral
The Full Monty
The Blind Side
Extremely Loud and Incredibly CloseMarch 9, 2017 at 5:05 pm #1202033377
The Alamo from John Wayne
Critics AND audiences hated it, so how the actual fuck did it get nominated for Best Picture over Spartacus AND Psycho, even when the latter managed a rare Best Director nomination for Alfred Hitchcock?!
Oh yeah, all those Oscar campaign ads… I am NOT your cousin, Chill Wills!!! 🙁March 9, 2017 at 5:07 pm #1202033380
Shocking (good, but not best picture nominee good):
Toy Story 3, Grand Budapest Hotel, 127 Hours, and Up.
Disappointing (wtf was The Academy thinking?):
Birdman, The Blind Side, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, and Shakespeare in Love.March 9, 2017 at 5:12 pm #1202033383
The Blind Side…….I will never forgive that nomination EVER
omg I forgot that movie was even in the race. I always pretend Miss Congeneality is the Best Picture film that has Sandy carrying the film with just her name. Describe your favorite date is more memorable than The Blind Side and 90% of rom-com.
