Moonlight was the actual winner, La La at least had 6 wins as a consolation prize. But what do you secretly wish was in that envelope so that even for a brief second you could have thought, wow my favorite film pulled a shocker for Best Picture!

    Lion hands Down!

And I wish that mess would have happened for Supporting Actor. So Dev Patel or Michael Shannon would be the winners.

Arrival, because we have no shortage of messagy/preachy/race-baiting/hollywood-centric films that wins and close to 0 films that are sci-fi/fantasy/different genre films.

My number 1&2 are Arrival and Moonlight, but I would’ve loved if Lion won. That is such a good movie.

Well if it just said Natalie Portman – Jackie like it should have, Beatty and Dunaway would have hopefully noticed they had the actress card since Jackie wasn’t a nominee and that could have all been avoided!

But nah, I wanted Moonlight, Manchester by the Sea, or Arrival.

    “Moonlight,” so I’m good.

“Arrival” or “Hidden Figures” or “Hell or Highwater” or … really just anything but “LaLa” or “Moonlight”. Oh well.

Manchester, though I’m still over-the-moon about the Moonlight shocker.

This would’ve been the best academy moment since the awards started.

Manchester By The Sea. Then they would have taken the Oscar from Matt Damon in Kimmel’s best prank EVER.

Lots of love for Arrival. Too bad Amy Adams was snubbed because I think she could have been a contender. Then Faye would have said Arrival! So Arrival fans could have enjoyed that split second 🙂

I understand it wrong as I assume that infamous envelope was the one that was given to Warren Beatty – copy of Best Actress. If so, then of course “Isabelle Huppert, Elle”. Any winner other than Emma Stone would get people on stage and PWC almost ok as she was the only one coming from Best Picture nominee.

I just realized that if the presentation order would be different and Best Actress would be presented before Best Actor, Beatty would get a copy of “Casey Affleck, Manchester by the Sea” which would make the situation much more uglier (both “MBTS” and “Moonlight” held similar positions in the race as potential underdogs, the same amount of 6 nods and 2 wins – acting and screenplay) but it would take “feud” between Jimmy Kimmel and Matt Damon to a new level as a man responsible for the situation was self-proclaimed Matt Damon look-a-like.
