We can’t include EVERYTHING, longshots, etc. It’s hard to maintain these lists in the predictions center menus because we must keep them to a manageable length. But what’s missing? What should we seriously consider adding ….?

McGregor has a *very* small part in A:OC, so I’m not sure he’ll be able make it in.

I do think Ethan Hawke can score a Golden Globe nod in the less competitive lead actor in a comedy series category. After all, Before Midnight is one of the most acclaimed movies of the year, and it’s set in a foreign country, which doesn’t hurt.

Also, it’s a hell of a lot better than Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, and they scored three major noms last year.

Personally, I think that John Wells shouldn’t have been removed for August: Osage County, as I think he’s at least got a chance to get nominated. Really, I think, at the very least, Best Picture and Best Director should list the same contenders, so the directors of Out of the Furnace, The Book Thief, and The Hobbit should be added, as well as the pictures The Past, The Place Beyond the Pines, and, my personal favorite, The Way Way Back, especially if Enough Said and Her can be listed in both. I’d also like to see Black Nativity and Frances Ha listed as an option in both.

For the oscars/Golden Globes/SAGS prediction center please add Andrew Dice Clay for Blue Jasmine.

And also please add Amy Adams in the Golden Globes/SAG for Her

Almost forgot! Can you PLEASE 🙂 add Blue Jasmine for Costume Design. I really think it could pull off a “devil wears prada”

I liked him too. I might even pick him, if I were given 1000-1 odds, in cash.

I have a feeling the Academy will go all out for Blue Jasmine.

Really? What makes you say that? Sorry if I’m being a pain I’m just curious. I really liked that movie and would love to see some Oscar nods for it.

The Power of Woody Allen. The Academy LOVES him and many believe this is his best film in 25 years. And unlike Midnight in Paris (which received directing, picture, art direction, and screenplay nominations, winning screenplay) Blue Jasmine has acting buzz. Most of it is from Cate Blanchett, obviously, but there are quite a few who are predicting Sally Hawkins to be nominated. The movie is just great and i truly believe the academy will award it generously.

I agree about Blue Jasmine. I’ve spoken to many academy members and all of them have (at least) really, really liked the film. Many said they loved it. Consenus among the voters is that it is Allen’s best film since Annie Hall (not sure I would agree) and many say they have seem the film twice (a few have even said three times).

Something about it is appealing to them like candy to children on Halloween. It has the potential to be a major factor on nomination morning.

Wouldn’t be surprised, the Academy has been loving it.

    Hi guys,

We’ve been reviewing some of your suggestions and have added or restored the following to the Oscars predictions center. I’ll see which of those are also needed in the Globes, SAG, and Critics’ Choice predictions centers, but for now they’re available to predict for Oscars:

    Picture:
    “The Past”
    “The Place Beyond the Pines”
    “The Way Way Back”

    Director:
    Scott Cooper
    Peter Jackson
    Brian Percival
    John Wells

    Supp. Actor:
    Andrew Dice Clay

    Supp. Actress:
    Nicole Kidman
    Carey Mulligan

    Costume Design:
    “Blue Jasmine”

For the Golden Globes, you should add James Corden for “One Chance” in Musical/Comedy Actor.

Also at the Golden Globes, you should remove “Blue Is the Warmest Color” from Drama Picture. Films can only be nominated in one category at the Globes (foreign language only in foreign language, animated only in animated).

Could you clarify why Julia Robers is listed in both lead and supporting? Are you awaiting confirmation or is it simply an oversight?

Shouldn’t Elizabeth Olsen be removed? Will “Therese” have a qualifying run?
