Ok, macho guys and others. We all write here because we love the Oscars. They made us excited when we start to predict next year the moment the this year’s ceremony ends. We love when they agree with us. We hate them when they ignore contenders and choose wrongly.
In all the ways, they induce us.

I was thinking that this year I probably have a tear or two in my eyes… I’ll cry if Meryl wins and I’ll cry if Meryl loses.

so, which OSCAR MOMENT made you cry? C’mom, admit it.

I have to say that I cried when Marion Cotillard won – just because I was so happy – Academy got it right.

I also had happy tears in that great memorial montage when Anthony Quinn died and they put the ZORBA THE GREEK soundtrack. “Did you say dance?”

I havent cried, except during the Obit clips.

But, I have laughed and laughed.

TSN loses. This is not Fincher’s best film imo. And in light of all the transparent bullshit trashing of it’s nearest winning competitor (Rush is over the top, the screenplay sucks, Firth was better in blahblah, Carter didnt deserve a nom, blahblahblah), this was my laughing-est moment in over a decade.

I laughed at Bette Midler’s intro to Best Song

I laughed out loud when a Fantasy finally won Best Picture (in a good way)

So many other examples, but my favorite one is at the top. HAAAAAHAAA!!! Still makes me laugh.

Just pathetic. Not remotely on topic, and only makes you look really small.

Whatever rocks your boat is fine, of course, but if that’s what makes you happy, I feel sorry for you.

I cried when: Sandra Bullock talked her mother and other mothers who take care of the babies no matter where they come from.

I was moved when: Russell Crowe talked about growing up in Sydney with a dream but being on the downside of a disadvantage.

I cheered when: Marty got hs first.

I laughed when: Adrien deep-tongued Halle.

I was disappointed when: Gwyneth Paltrow won.

I booed when: Michael Moore was deemed worthy enough by a group of socialist idiots to hold an Oscar in his hands.

Vampirella, I haven’t recognized you. What happened to your last pic? Subtle way to support Brad Pitt? 🙂

Probably the most emotional I’ve ever been was when Unforgiven won best picture – it was the first time in at that point almost 30 years of watching the Oscars that I thought the best (at least English language) film of the year actually won. I figured by that point it would never happen. Since then it’s happened three more times (Titanic, Million Dollar Baby, The Hurt Locker), for which I am grateful. It makes it easier to accept the other times when they get it wrong, or very wrong.

My my — it’s the Faux News Talking Head!

Silly you — those Hollywood A-listers have a lot of money for “socialist types,” but don’t let that get in the way of your ignorant Republican talking points.

^^^I’m not a republican. I’m not an anything. I share things from both parties: I’m pro-choice, pro-gun, fiscally conservative, and I think gays should be able to do anything straights can do. I just think Moore is a moron.

i doubt though you have a clue what socialism is. There might not be a single socialist (at least an American one) in the Academy. Socialism is virtually non-existent in the US.

I am a progressive who is not a Michael Moore fan for a variety of reasons, although he has done more good than bad.
