We see plenty of threads about what wins people consider to be the worst or that anger them the most. But what previous wins have you completely on the fence or in the middle? Wins that you don’t hate, but aren’t over the moon about.

    For me, some examples:

Christoph Waltz for Django Unchained (Great performance, but I thought Leonardo DiCaprio was the best and true supporting performance of the film)

Dustin Hoffman for Rain Man (Love Dustin Hoffman, but Tom Hanks would’ve been my personal pick)

Glory for Best Song (I know it’s an important song, but Everything Is Awesome is well..awesome)

Melissa Leo for Best Supporting Actress (Great actress, but The Fighter wasn’t her best work imo)

    How about you guys?

    I’ve got so many:

Argo – Good movie, not the best of 2012

12 Years a Slave- Amazing movie but I liked a whole lot of the other nominees more

Daniel Day Lewis “Lincoln”- I get it. He can do screaming really well. Just felt like that was a typical Lewis performance even though he was great. Would have rather seen Cooper or Jackman win

Christopher Plummer- Just glad he has one. Beginners just didn’t do much to me

Meryl Streep “Iron Lady”- Great performance but Viola really deserved that one

Christian Bale- What did he do in that movie that was so worthy? I don’t know. He wasn’t bad

Christoph Waltz “Inglorious”- He was great but I wasn’t blown away like many were. Harrelson and Tucci blew me away

Penelope Cruz- She was a scene stealer but an Oscar? Ok

Tilda Swinton- Great that she has one but for Michael Clayton?

Rachael Weisz- She was barely in the movie I don’t know where her big scene was

Tim Robbins “Mystic River”- Great that he has one but I didn’t see what others saw I guess

Charlize Theorin- Yeah she didn’t wear make up and she gained some weight but I wasn’t blown away

Adrian Brody- He just cried a lot

Jim Broadbant- I just pretend that was for Moulin Rouge!

Denzel Washington “Training Day”- Great but Oscar?

Michael Caine- There were a lot better Supporting performances that year but Caine always is great

Jennifer Connelly- She was about the only good thing of that movie but still not the stand out of the year

I’m gonna stop there and just do the past 15 years. I would be taking up too much space if I continued
