There has to be a thread identical to this SOMEWHERE on the forum, but I thought I’d start one just in case there isn’t one already

I, as most award show lovers, have often wondered who comes second at the Oscars? Who was the person with the second most votes?

List your personal opinions of who came second at the Oscars (choose any years you want and as many as you want) here and we’ll see who lost the Oscar by a margin…

    My personal opinions:

    84th Academy Awards

    Best Picture:
    Winner – The Artist
    Runner-Up: The Descendants

    Best Actor:
    Winner: Jean Dujardin (The Artist)
Runner-Up: Gary Oldman (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy) – note: I’m well aware that George Clooney could have won this if Dujardin did’nt, but I believe Oldman had the overdue factor working for him.

    Best Actress:
Winner – Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady)
    Runner-Up: Viola Davis (The Help)

    Best Supporting Actor:
    Winner – Christopher Plummer (Beginners)
Runner-Up: Kenneth Branagh (My Week with Marilyn)

    Best Supporting Actress:
Winner – Octavia Spencer (The Help)
    Runner-Up: Jessica Chastain (The Help)

    83rd Academy Awards

    Best Picture:
    Winner – The King’s Speech
    Runner-Up: The Social Network

    Best Actor:
Winner: Colin Firth (The King’s Speech)
    Runner-Up: James Franco (127 Hours)

    Best Actress:
Winner – Natalie Portman (Black Swan)
Runner-Up: Annette Bening (The Kids are All Right)

    Best Supporting Actor:
Winner – Christian Bale (The Fighter)
Runner-Up: Geoffrey Rush (The King’s Speech)

    Best Supporting Actress:
Winner – Melissa Leo (The Fighter)
Runner-Up: Helena Bonham Carter (The King’s Speech)
