This was a pact year for Best Actress and cannot make up my mind on who I thought should have been nominated it is really hard for me to chose. I like all of the performances but cannot seem to make up my mind. What do you think?

Kathy Bates was a “tour de force” in Dolores Claiborne in my honest opinion. One of my favorite female performances of the 90s.

Voted for Moore. But what a great year that was for best actress. Only 2013 and this year have been that good since then IMO

    • Meryl Streep (Bridges of Madison County)
    • Susan Sarandon (Dead Man Walking)
    • Julianne Moore (Safe)
    • Nicole Kidman (To Die For)
    • Elisabeth Shue (Leaving Las Vegas)

    Susan rightly won

Meryl was great (close second to Sarandon)

Julianne and Nicole should have been in (both amazing in their movies)

Shue was very strong but 5th place for me

    About the rest…

Thompson was nice but kinda miscast (she was deserving in screenplay though)

Sharon in Casino was always for me a great part not a great performance (she did OK)

Never really care about Bates in  Delores Calborne and Leigh in Georgia (I like other works from them much better)

Bening in The American President was no more than golden globe nominee deserving

I would’ve thrown in Julie Delpy for Before Sunrise, amazing performance.
