With news of an Edward Snowden movie now being in production, the question of course is who should play Snowden?

Who is going to produce the film? The CIA and the DOD? I am sure the U.S. Dept. of Propaganda would love to get invoived in this one. There is every reason to be wary of an anti-Edward Snowden biopic that will brand Snowden as a traitor to his country. Still, the story isn’t even done unfolding yet, is it?

At any rate, Chelsea Manning deserved a better movie than “The Fifth Estate,” and so does Edward Snowden.

LOL! Let’s not forget the NSA and the FBI, and a few others. We wouldnt want to make them jealous afterall.

    Let’s go with Ryan Gosling.

    I’d say Jake Gyllenhaal.

Perfect contrast to his role in Breaking Bad

I would say that you give it to a lesser known actor, like Pat Healy. Look at the Fifth Estate, a total bomb. You don’t need star power in a film like this, so keep it low budget.

If Ewan McGregor was a little younger I think he’d be an awesome fit. I can also see James McAvoy doing a great job. Ryan Gosling too.

This would have been perfect for Edward Norton a decade or so ago.

Yes I remember! And look at us now: a few months later and Foxcatcher got rave reviews and won Best Director at Cannes! We were born for this 😀

This project would be perfect for Aaron to flex his acting muscles. He’s outstanding and needs projects with A-list directors (I just hope he gets to work with Bigelow and Scorsese in the future)

McAvoy and Gosling were two of the first people I thought of as well.
