Any surprise nominees in the supporting categories will be from films that already have major contenders in the lead acting categories. Someone like Kristen Stewart will not be nominated (although she is very deserving). 

My guess would be Joan Allen or Julie Walters. I am also going to mention Jacob Tremblay and Tom Hardy since they are so low in the prediction center although they don’t technically count because they have each been nominated at one precursor. 

Michael B Jordan would be an interesting surprise. He would be the first time in recent memory a lead actor has joined the conversation after the precursors focused on a supporting actor.
