    Results from previous polls:

    #1: Bradley Cooper = 31% Vs. Leonardo DiCaprio = 69%
    #2: Amy Adams = 68% Vs. Jessica Chastain = 32%
    #3: Annette Bening = 44% Vs. Glenn Close = 56%
    #4: Gary Oldman = 90% Vs. Alan Rickman = 10%

Poll Five: Michael Fassbender Vs. Jake Gyllenhaal

Both have one previous nomination, both in the Supporting Actor category. Gyllenhaal’s was for Brokeback Mountain, and Fassbender’s for 12 Years a Slave.

Gyllenhaal has three potentials for the awards season this year: Southpaw, Demolition and Everest.

Fassbender has Slow West, Weightless, Macbeth, The Light Between Oceans, Tresspass Against Us and Steve Jobs all expected to be released this year.

But who will win an Oscar first?

Well, both of them are working with stellar supporters, such as Watts, Cooper, Gleeson, Portman, Bale, Mara, Gosling, Winslet, Cotillard, and my personal favorite, Rachel Weisz.  Perhaps Vikander.  Any of his costars can score.

We’ll rule out “Weightless” since Malick  apparently have actors who are never nominated for his films. And then we have Danny Boyle. I am probably going to boycott his “Jobs”. Not that it wont be a popular curiosity for the masses. Or, perhaps not. And we have the  recently hot, Jean-Marc Vallee. It has the gravitas so often demanded from Oscar winners.

I have my fingers crossed for Derek Cianfrance, an underappreciated Director whom I hope gets attention this year.

I dont think either of them will win this year, but should they, this is my guess:

    Gyllenhaal: Demolition

    Bale: Jobs

Who will win first? One of their costars……

The poll isn’t necessarily who will win this year, but just that out of the two of them, who is most likely to win one first at any point in the future.

Also, I’m intrigued, why are you boycotting Boyle’s Steve Jobs?

As much as I want to say Michael Fassbender, something tells me Jake Gyllenhaal will win his first. I like them both the same, so it doesn’t really matter who wins first. But as long as Fassbender wins his, all will be right in the movie world.

I can easily see both never winning honestly. At this point, I will say Fassbender because he’s had a recent breakthrough, but Gyllenhaal actually would campaign. It’s tough.

Gyllenhaal simply because I think he wants it more and is willing to play the game. He campaigned for Nightcrawler and even though it didn’t result in a nomination it showed he wanted it. He also has been picking some interesting work lately.

Fassbender is an amazing actor putting out some of the best work right now but he has shown that he doesn’t like playing the Hollywood game. I kind of clump him with similar actors like Joaquin Phoenix. They are amazing but will probably never win.
