Poll Nine: Naomi Watts Vs. Michelle Williams

Watts has two nominations to date, both as Leading Actress, for 21 Grams and The Impossible. Williams has had three nominations: Supporting for Brokeback Mountain, and Leading for Blue Valentine and My Week With Marilyn.

Watts has Sea of Trees (good luck flogging that one), Demolition and Shut In to be released within the next 12 months.
    Williams is currently filming Manchester-by-the-Sea.

But who do you think is more likely to win an Oscar first?

Both of them are overdue, I dunno. It’s such a 50-50% for me. Let them win in the same year.

I hope it’s Naomi. She’s incredible by all counts.

Williams did do Oz, to her credit……I’ve liked many of the films she’s worked in but well….

Tough one, cause I don´t reallysee them winning anytime soon.

I think Watts because her work is more oscar friendly these days and is much more present.

Hopefully its Naomi Watts. She is so undernominated and deserves a leading oscar yesterday.

Like who cares? She also did “Brokeback Mountain” “Take This Waltz” “Meek’s Cutoff” “My Week with Marilyn” “Blue Valentine” “Shutter Island” or “Wendy and Lucy”. All brilliant roles and performances! She’s one of the finest actresses working today!

I was going to list those “Indy” films she gaga’d over for so long. When she did Oz, I took a breathe and relaxed. Her film choices were really beginning to bug me. Wanna’n Oscar do ya Michelle?

Thanks for giving me the opening to be more frank about how I feel towards Williams……

    One last point Vince:

Take This Waltz: The STAR of this baby is a lady called Sarah Polley. Seth, “good”; Michelle, irritating as hell.*

Meek’s Cutoff: O yes sure. Bring on some more boring-assed, pointless dragging film.

My Week With Marilyn: LOVED Eddie Redmayne. Michelle was OK as well…….she was playing Monroe, correct?(sarcasm sweetie)

Blue Valentine: LOVED Ryan Gosling….more snoozing room as well.

Shutter Island: I detested this film very very much. Another, Fault in Our Stars only for a different profession.  Michelle is good here.

Wendy and Lucy: O sure Michelle. Think I’m EVER going to watch this again?

    Brokeback: Stellar work. Again please.

    Lol!

To borrow a phrase from you, if she keeps making films that audiences collectively flee from, “WHO CARES”? Think the average film goer is like US?

    Lolol. O, what a laugh.

I was referring on her Oz performance… 🙂 That’s just a ‘blah who cares’ performance next to her beautiful indie work! 🙂 I think it’s important to have indie stars. Mainstream is powerful, but some people are just “different”. Even is she’s not doing a lot of mainstream films, she has her fans who will watch her artistic films because they are into the genre and Michelle’s work. I’m proudly among them! 🙂
