If you had to recast any of our films this year (particularly the ones in the race) who could you have seen in the given roles?
La La Land
Lupita N’yongo as Mia
A younger Jennifer Connelly as Jackie
She would have nailed it too.January 12, 2017 at 11:09 pm #1201986941
La La Land
Michael B Jordan
Emma Watson (what it originally was)January 12, 2017 at 11:44 pm #1201986968
With respect to my choice, I’d have recast Amy Adams in Nocturnal Animals–I really liked her in Arrival but she was superficial and reduced to reacting violently every so often to the book she was reading. An actress capable of more explicit depth and layering would have been better: Brie Larson (too young though), Hilary Swank, Kate Winslet, Kirsten Dunst, Emily Blunt. Actually now that I think about it, Blunt would have killed in that role.January 13, 2017 at 1:36 am #1201986985
As Mia in La La Land: Audrey Hepburn around her Roman Holiday days.
As Randi in Manchester by the Sea: Jennifer Connelly.
As Jake Gyllenhaal in Nocturnal Animals: Heath Ledger.January 13, 2017 at 7:16 am #1201987069
Leonardo DiCaprio in Ryan Gosling’s RoleJanuary 13, 2017 at 7:38 am #1201987084
I heard Micheal B Jordan was considered for Goslings role in LLL, and omg that would have been PERFECT. He needs to be nominated after he was criminally overlooked in Creed.January 31, 2017 at 4:40 pm #1202000308
And my nominees for recast are…
Jon Hamm instead of Jeremy Renner
LA LA LAND
Michael B. Jordan instead of Ryan Gosling
MANCHESTER BY THE SEA
Mark Ruffalo instead of Casey Affleck
Paul Rudd instead of Jake Gyllenhaal
Lupita Nyong’o instead of Felicity JonesJanuary 31, 2017 at 4:58 pm #1202000326
La La Land- Michael B. Jordan and Emma Watson.
Nocturnal Animals- Naomi Watts instead of Amy Adams. She would’ve done that role so much better.January 31, 2017 at 7:41 pm #1202000443
La La Land Michael B Jordan Emma Watson (what it originally was)
I heard Watson is flipping the fuck out for passing on LLL. She was sooo demanding. So is Miles Teller who’s asking tonnes of money (who does he think he is, DiCaprio? Lol)
Well she expressed her regrets for not doing the film, but she was offered Belle around the same time (which is more suited for her) and I think this is going to do wonders for her career compared to what La La Land will do for Emma’s. Even those she will win an Oscar, Emma will blow up.January 31, 2017 at 7:54 pm #1202000458
I on the other hand think that Watson should’ve taken the role in LLL in the first place and not do Beauty & the Beast. It would’ve helped her get passed the typical Disney fantasy movie actress label after Harry Potter.
