This actually looks really good. I’m getting kind of a Whiplash-meets-Shame vibe from the trailer. Very exciting. Also, I had no idea Emma Thompson was in this, so that just adds to the excitement for me!!

I didn’t get the Whiplash+Shame vibes (they wish!) though I want to watch this. The trailer make it look like a little cheap movie – not in the budget sense (the music didn’t help) and I can confirm that now I have issues with Bradley Cooper (we were so fine years ago! sigh). Still I’m in for this. For the chef scenario and Alicia Vikander, Omar Sy and Matthew Rhys.

It’s certainly not as intense as either, but something about the way the trailer was edited gave off a similar vibe to me. That supporting cast is terrific! I’m really interested in what Uma Thurman’s role will be, sooooo good in ‘Nymphomaniac’ and the otherwise “meh” miniseries ‘The Slap’, she is due for a comeback.

I’m all for giving movies a fair chance and I will probably see it but nothing about this trailer really got me excited. It seems over the top. All this about cooking? Why is everyone so tense?

Yeah the description of this film gave me nothing but the trailer was briliant. Excited for this now, the cast looks on point (also like there’s a lot of good actresses in this, sausage fest ensembles are ten a penny)

That’s where the Whiplash vibe I’m getting is coming from. The intensity. You could argue how is it so tense when people are playing instruments in Whiplash? And it is about high calibre cooking, with Cooper playing a Michelin star chef. Hence the intensity.

I’m not familiar with John Wells previous movies. But, I’m 100% sure Wells is also involved with the show Shameless, if that’s the case I’m more interested now.

Nice to see Matthew Rhys starting to get in good film projects, hope his role is not just a cameo.

As the only one around here who loved the hot mess that was ‘August: Osage County’, I’m excited to see John Wells bring a raging Bradley Cooper back to screen.

Anything to get the taste of ‘American Sniper’ out of my mouth.

NEVER underestimate Bradley Cooper. Never. If this movie is well received he’s in again.

I do have Cooper as a dark horse. If he does get in, I could see him finally winning so they could stop torturing him. But as long as the performance is great, then that is okay with me. My top ponies in the Best Actor race are Fassy and Leo, but I wouldn’t have any complaints if Cooper won. I personally think he should’ve for Silver Linings Playbook.

Oh God, what if Best Actor ended up being between Cooper and DiCaprio, and Cooper won. The Internet would implode!

If Emma Thompson can get a supporting actress nominnation out of this I’ll be happy.
