Of course it’s considered an OUTRAGE to remake an Oscar-winning film, but — go ‘head, do it anyway, in your head, and tell us who you’d cast in the primary roles. This can be fun.

Here is my dream cast for an imaginary remake of The Godfather:

    Daniel Day Lewis as Vito
    Bradley Cooper as Michael
    Mark Ruffalo as Fredo
    Christian Bale as Sonny
    Mila Kunis as Connie
    Rooney Mara as Kay
    Joseph Gordon Levitt as Tom

    Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

    Liam Neeson as George

    Cate Blanchett as Martha

    Matt Damon as Nick

    Jennifer Lawrence as Honey

No one as the bartender since the unnecessary roadhouse sequence will be properly set back at the college

I like the idea of a Virginia Woolf remake.

George – Liam Neeson or Jude Law
Martha – Cate Blanchett or Kate Winslet
    Nick – Zac Efron
    Honey –  Jennifer Lawrence

Perhaps Marty. Cast a geek or “funny-lookin'” Lead, such as Steve Buscemi or John Goodman, both of whom  can act. A lady lead who is a plain Jane or glammed down…someone like Melissa McCarthy, who can play against type,  or Maggie Gyllenhaal. Then try to snag a competent but conventional writer such as, Chris Terrio or Emma Thompson (lol), then snag a director. Any director.

I think Amy Adams would be an inspired Stella in Streetcar, but I think Stanley would be the hardest role to re-cast in that.

Okay, this something that I would love to see, but I will probably get a lot of flack for it, but so be it – it doesn’t need to be good, but it would be interesting. Just bear with me, as I need to do a little explaining first.

    SUNSET BOULEVARD (Steven Soderbergh)
A reimagining of Sunset Boulevard, set in the current day. Instead of Norma Desmond being a one-loved film star from the silent era trapped in a world of sound cinema where she doesn’t fit in, despite all her efforts, she is now a washed-up 1980s pop music diva who is struggling in the world of young, attractive musicians with their autotune.and electronic music. She lives in her Beverly Hills mansion with her personal assistant who used to be her manager, and she becomes close to Joe, a young songwriter trying to enter contemporary music.

    Norma Desmond…Madonna (duh…)
    Joe Gillis…Chris Pine
    Max Von Myerling…Kelsey Grammer
    Betty Schaefer…Anne Hathaway

I really don’t get this thread in “movies”… Wouldn’t it be more of a “game”? or “poll”?

Cheating a bit because it didn’t actually win any oscars (but it should have) I would LOVE to see a remake of Witness for the Prosecution with:

    Sir Wilfrid: Richard Griffiths
Christine: Kristin Scott Thomas (I would give anything to see her play this role, the only person I can imagine matching Dietrich’s iconic performance)
    Leonard: Matt Damon
    Miss Plimsoll: Imelda Staunton

WHAT?! What a loss. But that’s especially embarassing since thats the one castmember I chose today and I had to look him up to remember his name, probably shouldve noticed that. Well Timothy Spall was my backup.

It was kind of under the radar.  I think the headline was Harry Potter actor dies.
