I don’t have to wait too long. 42 comes out April 12th.

    What about you?

“Gravity” – interested on what Cuaron does with the concept of a space survival story done almost completely in long takes and in 3D. Might be the big and most bold visual experience of the year for american studio films.

“Stoker” – intrigued by what Park Chan Wook’s american debut. It’s bound to at least interesting. The trailer seems to convey a mood and atmosphere that’s dense and depraved, but with a feel of effortless that it’s rare to get from american directors today.

“Penance” – Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s very promising film about four girls who can’t remember the face of the killer of one of a friend (or at least seem to), and the mother looking to avenge her daughter’s death. I love “Cure” and I find Kurosawa to be one of the most underrated directors in the world right now.

“The Congress” – Ari Folman does Stanislaw Lem. That is all.

“Pacific Rim” – because I love Del Toro, and the film is like one gigantic anime wet dream with giant monsters, robots and katana fights.

“Evil Dead” – big fan of the original, and I LOVED the trailer. It will have a hard time to live up to expectations, but it’s feels glorious.

Also curious about Refn’s “Only God Forgives”, Malick’s “To The Wonder” and I want desperately to know more details about the new Takahata and Miyazaki films, as I love Ghibli films.

Oh, can’t forget “Star Trek Into The Darkness”, for it will probably be awesome.

I don’t really look ahead. Into The Darkness will be one of my favorites of the year if it’s nearly as good as the first. Evil Dead intrigues me. I’m a much bigger fan of Evil Dead 2 and its wackiness. Interested to see if this franchise will be worthwhile without the cheese.
