    2011 (easily)

    Viola Davis – The Help
Meryl Streep – The Iron Lady
Tilda Swinton – We Need To Talk About Kevin
    Charlize Theron – Young Adult
Michelle Williams – My Week With Marilyn

Close and Mara were so far behind – it’s not even funny.

I will only do 2011 as this was one of the most dull, boring and lazy set of nominees in Oscar history.

    Viola Davis, The Help
    Kirsten Dunst, Melancholia (Winner)
Elizabeth Olsen, Martha Marcy May Marlene
Tilda Swinton, We Need to Talk About Kevin
Michelle Williams, My Week With Marilyn

    2011:

    Kirsten Dunst, ‘Melancholia’ (Winner)
Rooney Mara, ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’
Elizabeth Olsen, ‘Martha Marcy May Marlene’
Tilda Swinton, ‘We Need To Talk About Kevin’
    Charlize Theron, ‘Young Adult’

    Right On The Cusp:

Meryl Streep, ‘The Iron Lady’ (half of an amazing performance, half of an adequate one)
Michelle Williams, ‘My Week With Marilyn’ (good all around, captures Monroe’s essence, but it’s kind of thin)
Viola Davis, ‘The Help’ (very good, great moments, but there were just better performances)

    2002
Julianne Moore, Far From Heaven * Winner *
    Diane Lane, Unfaithful
    Renee Zellweger, Chicago
    Nicole Kidman, The Hours
    Toni Collete, About a Boy

    2003
    Charlize Theron * Winner *
    Naomi Watts, 21 Grams
    Keisha Castle-Hughes, Whale Rider
    Samantha Morton, In America
    Uma Thurman, Kill Bill Vol.1

2011-  A strong year of performances but i have no idea why rooney mara was nominated for something noomi rapace did way better the year before her. An while Glenn Close was really good in “Albert Nobbs” i don’t think she was nomination worthy. How Tilda didn’t make it is just beyond me.

Tilda Swinton, We Need To Talk About Kevin * Winner *
    Meryl Streep, The Iron Lady
Michelle Williams, My Week With Marilyn
    Viola Davis, The Help
    Olivia Colman, Tyrannosaur
