2009 — Paul Schneider, BRIGHT STAR

    • So you think I’m crazy? FYI, Schneider won Best Supporting Actor from the National Society of Film Critics
    • Should not have even been nominated for that shamelessly hammy performance: Christopher Waltz

    2010 — John Hawkes, WINTER’S BONE

    • Runner up: Geoffrey Rush
    • Should not have even been nominated for that shamelessly hammy performance: Christian Bale

    2011 — Christopher Plummer, BEGINNERS

    • Come on, the man has earned and fully deserved a career win
    • Runner up: John Hawkes

Plummer is definitely one of the sexiest elderly men out there, he completely deserved his win. However why don’t you like Bale? And what was John Hawkes in as your personal runner up in 2011?

Both Bale and Melissa Leo engaged in the worst kind of shallow caricatures and hammy overacting and the Academy thought those were the two best supporting performances of the year? Between them they practically chewed up all the scenery.

John Hawkes played the cult leader in MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE.
