Although I’ll continue to update this list, I’m going to see Saving Mr. Banks tonight, and The Wolf Of Wall Street next thursday, so those are likely films to make a dent on this list!

    1. Before Midnight

    2. Her

    3. The Wolf of Wall Street

    4. The Crash Reel*

    5. 12 Years a Slave

    6. The Act of Killing*
    7. August: Osage County

    8. Le Passe

    9. Short Term 12

    10. Gravity

A:OC has actually fallen with a rewatch, but I still think I have it higher than most (sane) people.

Honorable Mentions: The Hunt, All Is Lost, This is The End, The Way, Way Back, The Place Beyond the Pines, The Spectacular Now, Rush, Blue is the Warmest Color, Inside Llewyn Davis, The Great Beauty, Philomena, American Hustle

Take out the 2 documentaries, and I would slot in… The Hunt and… All Is Lost.

Wasn’t there already a thread on this? Anyway, I still have quite a few more films to see from this year (and no, i don’t mean “Oscar films” when I say that) but here are the ones I liked, from what I’ve seen. I’m not going to rank them.

    In no particular order
    Her
    Mud
    Before Midnight.
    Laurence Anyways
    Blue is the Warmest Color
    Frances Ha
    Upstream Color
    Inside Llewyn Davis
    Gravity
    Nebraska

    6) 12 Years a Slave
    7) August: Osage County
    8) Frozen
    9) Blue Jasmine

Kind of strange how my top 5 nearly correlate with the Oscar’s Best Director lineup. I have McQueen’s 12YAS at #6.
