Azealia Banks, Kreayshawn, Iggy and that Briana chick had videos out last year and this year, so that should make them eligible for Best Female Hip Hop Artist. Nicki will probably win by default, but “212” shits on everything homegirl put out this year.

Whitney Tribute: I can definitely see Monica, Kim Burrell pay tribute to her. I was thinking maybe they do her tribute like this

Artist who inspired Whitney: Aretha Franklin/Chaka Khan

Artist who work alongside Whitney: Mariah Carey/ Cece Winans/Anita Baker/Toni Braxton

Artist Inpsired by Whitney: Monica, Brandy, Deborah Cox, Jennifer Hudson, Christina Aguilera (I think any of these women would be great to honor Whitney).

I can see any of those Try Again!

Deborah Cox worked along side Whitney too “Same Script Different Cast” song.

I would LOVE to see Tamia sing in a tribute to Whitney. I doubt BET would invite her.

MsErica I was thinking about having Tamia sing as well too. Hell I think BET should just do a musical special for Whitney. It can be a 2 hour special and feature the following artist:

    -Brandy
    -Monica
    -Jennifer Hudson
    -Mariah Carey
    -Fantasia
    -Tamia
    -Kelly Price
    -Faith Evans
    -Christina Aguilera
    -JoJo
    -Charice
    -Toni Braxton
    -Cece Winans
    -Deborah Cox
    -Melanie Fiona

Ughh this is gonna make me upset because that would have been a good linup. Only five female rappers submitted their videos to BET during the elgibility period. So here are the nominees:

    -Diamond
    -Brianna
    -Nicki Minaj
    -MIA
    -Trina

So these are the real nominees for Best Female Hip Hop Artist this year. Azealia, Iggy and Rye Rye are elgible for next year. I really hope they pull some strings and get Iggy and Azealia in that lineup because BET is bound to catch some backlash if they dont. But in all honesty those are the females that submitted videos in time to be nominated for this years show.

My predictions for other nominees will be coming soon.

    Unfortunate.

I seriously don’t understand why the category is still there if only five female artists submit material. They all get in by default, and only one of them get mainstream attention. Those girls don’t have any chance against Nicki, who is becoming more of a pop star than a rap phenomenon. I’m more excited about next year’s contenders.

    @Scenario

I agree. I was actually excited for that category this year but I checked and Iggy and |zealia barely missed the deadline by a few days. So far the confirmed contenders for next year are Iggy Azealia banks Nicki and Rye Rye.

Something tells me nicki won’t be winning next year and rightfully so

I agree they should have done that for both MJ and Whitney they deserve it. That’s a  good lineup maybe add Ledisi, Yolanda Adams and Kim Burrell too. I think Bey would kill “Queen Of The Night”

I doubt BET would have Tamia for the BET Awards but maybe for the Soul Train Awards since she did tribute Anita Baker a couple years ago.

If Kevin Hart returns as host I’m gonna need him to roast and gag these A-LIST celebrities like Ricky Gervais did at the Globes. Last year he was hilarious but it felt like he was holding back ALOT!

I’m also not here for a Whitney Houston hologram. You know mfs been goin wild wanting to see these dead celebrities risen from the grave ever since Tupac did Coachella. But at this point, who else could possibly honor Whitney with a musical tribute? Maybe there could be a nice little segment that recaps her career and past BET moments. That would be nice.

This has been a horrific year for urban music. Besides the tributes, why have the BET Awards at all this year?

The nominees and winners will be predictable and undeserving.

Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj will be the big winners while Beyonce, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Kanye and other favorites will win additional trophies.

Add Ashanti and Busta as a DARKHORSE nominee for Best Collabo. It’s tearing up the 106th and Park Countdown.

LOL @ Beyonce being a winner. Chris will probably only get one nomination.
