Since this forum is dead, I thought I’d just create a thread to talk about 2013 music.
Album-wise, so far, the standouts are:
A$AP Rocky, Long.Live.A$AP
Tegan And Sara, Heartthrob
Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite, Get Up!
Josh Groban, Brave
A$AP Rocky, Fashion Killa
Bruno Mars, When I Was Your Man
Pink feat. Nate Ruess, Just Give Me A Reason
Rihanna feat. Mikky Ekko, Stay
Classified feat. David Myles, Inner Ninja
The Civil Wars, Long Time Gone
Sheryl Crow, Easy
Ne-Yo, Forever Now
What’s grabbing your ear?
I’m addicted to Fantasia’s lead single, Lose to Win.
Loving some of the new rap out there. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have an excellent album. So does A$AP Rocky. Kendrick Lamar and 2 Chains are really killing it too.
I’m underwhelmed by the pop offerings of 2013 so far. Justin Timberlake’s plan to launch in first quarter of this year was pure genious. I’m digging the Pink and Nate Ruess duet “Just Give me a Reason”, but a lot of what’s on CHR these days is garbage.
I have never been big on The Band Perry. Then I heard their new song named “Done”. To me that song could not be anymore kick butt! Go here to check it out! (smiles)
God bless you and them always!!!
Go here to check out my most favorite singer James Otto!

The first two things that came to my mind were Just Give Me a Reason by Pink feature Nate Ruess and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ The Heist. Just Give Me A Reason needs a performance nomination at the very least, and The Heist is a great album with at least 2 huge hits on it.
I’ve heard good things about the rest of the songs on JT’s album, but I’m personally really unimpressed by Suit and Tie.
I’m not sure about this, but will Emeli Sande be eligible for best new artist this time around? I know there was some buzz for her for these past Grammy’s, and Next to Me is a great pop song. In the same vain Icona Pop has a promising pop future.
Safe and Sound by The Capital Cities is a fantastic song, not sure there’s a place for it, but it’s caught my attention in a great way.
