Arguably the most competitive award out side the GF who is in the lead for this years award. Past winners include Adele x2, Lored and Pharrell.March 25, 2015 at 12:03 pm #410289
So far the contenders are:
-“Blank Space” – Taylor Swift
-“Thinking Out Loud” – Ed Sheeran
-“Lips Are Movin” – Meagan Trainor
-“Ghost” – Ella Henderson
“Love Me Like You Do” – Ellie Goulding
TBD: future releases from Adele, Rihanna, Bruno MarsMarch 25, 2015 at 3:14 pm #410290
Right now, it’s a two-horse race between “Blank Space” and “Thinking Out Loud”. Both great songs, both have a good chance of winning at this stage and honestly, if either of those won, I would be fine with it.March 26, 2015 at 10:18 am #410291
I hope Ed beats Taylor.March 26, 2015 at 10:49 am #410292
Honey, I doubt Taylor Swift wins this category. Something much better will come along by September 30th.March 26, 2015 at 11:02 am #410293
I have to agree with Gucci. There most likely will be a contender yet to be released that will win. I’d love to see Taylor take it but by then Blank Space will be so stale.March 26, 2015 at 11:08 am #410294
For now I think Ed is strongest contenderMarch 26, 2015 at 11:35 am #410295
Still waiting for that breakout artist of 2015.March 26, 2015 at 8:05 pm #410296
We very well could have heard our winner by now, which is weird with the Grammys only last month, but we’re far into the current eligibility period. I think we’ve at least heard most of our strongest contenders, but it’s a long ways away until September. The strongest contender right now I think is Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.”March 26, 2015 at 8:30 pm #410297

I agree with you. I still think Taylor will get the nomination for “Blank Space”. But something else will come along. I really hope that Ella Henderson gets a nomination for “Ghost”. This song is really good and her voice is spectacular.March 26, 2015 at 8:42 pm #410298
Ghost won’t be nominated the song didn’t even make a dent over here. I’d love to see “Love Me Like You Do” nominated. But Ed or Taylor one of them will win.March 27, 2015 at 7:13 am #410299
Yeah, right now it’s Taylor vs. Ed, but I do think Ellie has an outside shot especially if the song has some staying power or can even climb to #1 (not entirely impossible).March 27, 2015 at 7:25 pm #410300
I agree with many that Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran are the front-runners right now with Ellie Goulding close behind.
I also like “Nobody Love” by Tori Kelly which is currently #74 on the Hot 100. I think it has a chance to get big in a few months.March 28, 2015 at 12:58 pm #410301
My goodness where are the vocal goddesses that used to rule this category? Are you shitting me? are we really talking about fucking Ellie Goulding and Taylor Swift getting nominated in this category? What a Mess!March 28, 2015 at 2:02 pm #410302

I don’t think this category is based solely on vocals seeing as the 2 out of 4 winners have lackluster vocals and Katy Perry has the most nominations. Also seeing as Taylor Swift currently is Pop music of why wouldn’t we be talking about her?
