I think NWA is a lock too. I’m hoping that Cheap Trick, Deep Purple, Janet, and Chicaho also make it in.

I think that Don Cornelius is on lock too. He deserves a nomination posthumously into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Wow Los Lobos! My dad went to high school with them!

I feel this is the year The Smiths get in. NWA should be a lock. Would be thrilled for NIN

Right now Chicago is leading the popular vote with 255,795 votes.

In the top five of the popular vote are Yes, The Cars, Deep Purple and Steve Miller.

Chicago! Uh. Finally. I believe this is their first nomination (which is a huge joke).

NWA, Chicago, The Spinners, The Smiths, Chaka Khan, Janet Jackson and Chic would be my picks for consideration.

Janet’s lead has now grown considerably, she is at nearly 27% and Chicago is in second place with like 22%.

Both Janet and NWA benfit from current buzz. Janet’s album is #1, and Straight Outta Compton’s box office will resonate with voters.

NIN will follow the current trend of 90’s alterntative acts being inducted (Green Day, Nirvana, etc).

Was Mariah Carey eligble this year? If so, major snub.

Yes it was her first year being eligible, but I don’t see it as a snub so much as Mariah hasn’t made as much of a lasting impact on the culture as Janet has.   I think one could argue that artistically Janet is the stronger artist and has more crticial respect than Mariah.
