Like last year, I will announce the winner and runner-up for each category and a general winner on December 6th when grammy nominations are announced, so there will be four winners who have predicted correctly the nominations.

Hopefully, we will have the submissions revealed on Oct 14.

    Last year’s topic: http://www.goldderby.com/forum/music/2016-grammy-final-pop-field-predictions/

There won’t be ties, if you posted your predictions earlier you have advantage over the others. People with only 5 nominees each category will have advantange over the others with 6 nominees.

Pop Album is insanely competitive this year, but just putting it out there….I just listened to Shawn Mendes’ album. It’s very very good. With “Treat You Better” being a big hit and the album selling well, he’s definitely a possibility for a surprise Pop Album nom.

There’s way too much competition for Selena to get nominated. She’s not getting nominated for Meghan, Ariana, and Britney.

There’s way too much competition for Selena to get nominated. She’s not getting nominated for Meghan, Ariana, and Britney.

Ariana will more than likely get the teeny bopper nomination. She’s been racking up nods at these recent award shows. It could be an indication that she’s got some support.

I agree that Selena will most likely not get in, mostly because her vocal/musical talent is severely limited, but she is much more likely than Britney. Her album came and went, just like the lead single, and both impacted the charts very little, which is what the pop categories are all about.

Grande, Mendes, Gomez, Trainor, Lovato, etc. are all going for a final “teen” slot, and while I was hesitant earlier, I think it will be Grande. She has a history with the Grammys, and DW, IY, and STS will all end up being moderate hits.

Though, I don’t know how often pop artists score 3 Pop radio number ones from one album, which is what is working in Gomez’s favor. GFY, SOL, and HTM were legitimate big top 10 hits. So she could potentially get in.

    Adele-“25”
    Justin Bieber-“Purpose”
    Coldplay-“A Head Full of Dreams”
    Ariana Grande-“Dangerous Woman”
    Sia-“This is Acting”

Spoiler: Selena Gomez-“Revival”. Then the other ones I mentioned could be big surprises, but not likely.

I disagree, Cheap Thrills should go to Pop Duo/Group for one reason, it’s her best chance, even if Sean Paul did not put anything new in the song this is her first number 1 and it would be smart submitted in a category without a clear frontrunner instead of sending it to a losing battle against Adele.
