Bruno Mars will win. His album is also the only album nominated up for Engineered Album.

    Likeliness of winning:

    Bruno
Lorde (she’ll get all the Rock votes)
    Kendrick Lamar
    Jay Z
    Childish Gambino.

I actually can’t believe how urban/rap friendly the Grammys want to seem this year (not inherently a bad thing, but it’s pretty transparent in this case).

Jay Z topping the nominations is insane. That alone makes me think Kendrick is probably screwed in AOTY. After all, this is the Grammys; I totally agree with the idea that in a field of two rap, two r&b, and one pop album, they’ll go with the pop album or Bruno Mars (whose album many of us also thought might go pop before submissions were announced).

I’m very confused on how to rank them by likelihood of winning, therefore I’ll just classify them for their quality.

    1. DAMN.
    2. Awaken, My Love!
    3. 4:44
    4. Melodrama
    5. 24K Magic

    The average quality is good!

It’s Bruno Mars vs Kendrick with Lorde as a possible spoiler.

I can’t believe Bruno can win this sh*t, yikes

Oh also – I’m not sure that the Engineering nomination necessarily helps 24K Magic. Being the only AOTY nominee in the category and winning it didn’t help Alabama Shakes a few years ago.

Only disadvantage for Bruno is that his mastering engineer Tom Coyne would become the first 4 time AOTY winner, maybe that won’t happen, just like Bob Ludwig was going to be a 4 time AOTY with Sound & Color.
Ludwig and Coyne are well respected, that may justified the Engineered Album nomination.

Am I the only one thinking that Bruno doing so well at the AMAs might actually hurt him with NARAS?

Whoever wins Album of the Year, it better not be Lorde. I will not be happy if she wins. I want either Kendrick or Bruno to win. They dominated 2017 on the R&B/Hip-Hop charts and beyond that to the pop charts. Either of those 2 should win. As for Jay-Z and Childish Gambino, if they won, I’d be satisfied, but slightly disappointed. I just don’t want Lorde to win. I don’t hate her though, its just that her recent music was a disappointment.

24K Magic will win this. It’s the more universal album which I can see multiple voters backing up. Jay and Kendrick will split. And Bruno will take this, the Grammys late ve him.

If you told me that Ed wasn’t nominated for AOTY, I would have thought Kendrick had it in the bag, but the fact that JAY-Z is nominate now, and even Childish Gambino is nominated too…that spells real trouble for Kendrick.

Lorde doesn’t have a chance in hell. Neither does Gambino. JAY-Z won’t win either, so this does come down to Kendrick vs Bruno but since the other nominees will take away votes from an already shaky Kendrick, Bruno will (i can’t believe it) win this (for his weakest album).

Childish Gambino or Bruno Mars are not winning this, get real. It’s between Kendrick and Lorde.

Lorde doesn’t want to win this category. With this line-up the backslash of the young white girl winning over the other nominations would be real. Since she’s generally liked the hate might be aimed at the Grammy’s and not her but still it’s something you don’t want to be in. Anyone that votes Lorde will be very aware they’re voting for the only white artist. That’s how political the Blue Ribbon Pannel made this.

I voted Bruno, but I really feel like any of the four could take this.

Oh god, I hope Lorde will win! In fact if I were a voting member I’d vote for her, and I really hope that the voting base which will definitely feel betrayed by the BRP rally around Lorde to punish the BRP.

It’ll be hilarious. If Lorde wins, I wonder what trick the BRP will have up their sleeve for next year? Maybe a total and complete shutdown on white artists in all major categories, in the name of diversity!

Wishing for Lorde to win out of spite and to push some sort of agenda after trashing her and negating her chances of a nomination says a lot about you. Can’t wait for this Grammy season to be over with so you and the other trolls can go back into hiding.
