    So this year I finally decided to go public with this little thing I’ve been thinking about doing for a few years now.  See, every year I notice that I know fewer and fewer of the VMA nominees, which basically means that my taste in music has shifted a bit since I started watching the VMAs in the year 2000.  So instead of complaining, I’ll post some of my own choices for various categories.

    I’ve divided these into four groups: General, Genre, Professional, and Regional.  I’ll post them separately.

    Oh yeah, and my eligibility period is July 1, 2013-June 30, 2014 (based on YouTube/VEVO upload dates).

    So without further ado, here are the general categories (usually 6-7 nominees except for VOTY, which I always whittle down to 5):
