The Sound of… poll predicts breakthrough acts, sometimes they get it right, they named Adele their winner in 2008, way before anyone saw her talent and how big she was going to be, so I think it’s very interesting and exciting always to check their annual list, maybe they have listed the next big super star, future grammy winners.
Sometimes, those Best New Artist surprise nominees, are listed here way before grammys or any award show notice them.
Lets check some correlations between this and the grammys.

Who do you think will be a future grammy nominee or winner from Sound of 2016?January 19, 2016 at 7:27 pm #415850
Alessia Cara is the obvious choice. My favourite acts of the list are J hus and Section Boyz (although these acts I can guarantee will not win Grammys), while the most talented act in terms musicality is their winner Jack Garrett (which certainly isn’t always the case), but Cara has the publicity, following, and support that is undoubtedly required to win Grammys in fields of popular music.January 20, 2016 at 11:18 am #415851
I can see Alessia Cara and Jack Garratt breaking through at next year’s Grammys.
