2015 is almost over, so we’re going to be doing
several “Best Of” posts here in the music forums. Please sound off by
giving your thoughts on who was the single BEST Artist/Group of 2015.
Kendrick Lamar, no question. Not only was his work brilliant, To Pimp a Butterfly permiated the culture by adding a crucial voice to the conversation on race and intersectionality. Lamar rallied black Americans to celebrate themselves, to stand united. When shit hit the fan, whose music was appropriated into mantras of perseverance? No one was chanting, “I can’t feel my face when I’m with you,” to protest police brutality.
In my opinion, it’s either Taylor Swift or the Weekend.
