Thanks for enlightening me as to the existence of that accoustic version of “Wake Me Up” Aloe Blacc gets no respect!

Haha, no prob! It pisses me off that that version isn’t available on iTunes. There is an “acoustic” one on iTunes, but it’s not the one that’s in the video.

What are your favourites of the year?

Some of those, at least Kendrick Lamar’s Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City, is a 2012 album.

Other than that, this is a respectable list.

I saw The Heist above GKMC and you compare The Heist to College Dropout, and I immediately closed the tab.

Modern Vampires of the City is hands down my favorite of the year. Rolling Stone made a good call. Jake Bugg’s debut would also top my list.

I find it pretty interesting that Yeezus and Random Access Memories are topping the year end lists of so many critics and publications despite being two of the most controversial albums of the year.

I spent the first half of 2013 restlessly listening to ‘Good Kid’ and ‘The Idler Wheel’, so I only got around to about 28-30 records from this. I’m doing a top ten anyways. I actually liked most of what I listened to this year, but I don’t have the attachment to anything this year like I was to my top three or four from 2012.  (Yes, I listened to Daft Punk and Bowie. They just don’t appear on either list.)

    1.    Am, Artic Monkeys
    2.    BEYONCE, Beyonce
    3.    Modern Vampires of the City, Vampire Weekend
    4.    Rival Dealer, Burial
    5.    Yeezus, Kanye West
    6.    The Civil Wars, The Civil Wars
    7.    Once I was an Eagle, Laura Marling
    8.    Shaking the Habitual, The Knife
    9.    The Worst Things Get… , Neko Case
    10.    Nothing Was the Same, Drake/Matangi, M.I.A

Most disappointing (only the first two aren’t at least decent)
    1.    Mosquito, Yeah Yeahs Yeahs
    2.    ArtPop, Lady Gaga
    3.    The 20/20 Experience, Justin Timberlake
    4.    The Electric Lady, Janelle Monae
    5.    Reflektor, Arcade Fire
