I have a feeling it’s gonna be Alabama Shakes, but I would love a win for Florence here

I would not be surprised if the Shakes won every category they were nominated for this year.

“Lydia” and “What Kind of Man” aren’t competition.  “Ex’s & Oh” peaked at the right time.  “Hold Back The River” could spoil.  Even though “Don’t Wanna Fight” is rather meh, the Shakes will sweep the Rock and Alternative fields.

SHOULD WIN: “Hold Back The River”
    WILL WIN: “Don’t Wanna Fight”

I think it’s definitely between Hold Back The River & Don’t Wanna Fight. I voted for Hold Back The Rivere as I want it to win between these two songs but I will not be surprised in the least if AS take it.

It’s between HBTR and DWF. I think DWF will take it.

First off, “Lydia” is pretty amazeballs. Check out the great music video for the song too. This is one element of the Grammys that I look forward to every year in exposing me to works that I wouldn’t have thought about listening to otherwise. Pretty crazy that something as under-the-radar as Highly Suspect makes it in over Foo Fighters, but there you go. James Bay would be a deserving winner, but he seems like the kind of contender who’s picked a lot but never wins. After Paramore’s unconventional win here last year, it’s giving me hope that the ladies can continue breaking through in a category that’s been dominated by men for far too long. It would be the perfect time to reward Florence Welch, but not for “What Kind of Man?” Elle King reads much more pop than rock to me, and that might hurt her with “Ex’s & Oh’s”. In the end, this category is locked up for Alabama Shakes. “Don’t Wanna Fight” would be one of the strongest winners the category’s had in a long time, and another female-fronted band wins with Brittany Howard, so yay.

WILL WIN: Alabama Shakes, “Don’t Wanna Fight”
SHOULD WIN: Alabama Shakes, “Don’t Wanna Fight”

I’m gonna bet at a upset for WKOM, but DWF is the other possibility.
