Beiber’s new song has already fallen behind Despacito on the iTunes sales chart so a 16th week at #1 for Despacito seems all but certain come next week.August 21, 2017 at 11:26 am #1202191001
Cardi B is going #1August 22, 2017 at 11:59 pm #1202192463
Why is “Friends” coming out now? Is Bieber trying to take himself down? I am ambivalent about “Despacito” holding the record for however long it does, but I like the idea of a primarily-non-English song breaking the record in Trump’s America. (Bonus points for the English part being sung by a Canadian.)August 23, 2017 at 12:58 am #1202192496
It would be nice if Cardi B was able to shoot up to #1 this week, however, with “Despacito” cutting its price on iTunes to $0.69 and it currently sitting at #1 on that chart (why?!!!!! Still?!!!) it looks like it will probably tie Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men’s all-time longest running #1 record at 16 weeks. …the good news though, is that Taylor Swift is officially releasing her new single on Friday (with rumored video), so it should more than likely debut at #1, preventing “Despacito” from beating the record for longest running Billboart Hot 100 single.August 23, 2017 at 6:21 am #1202192661
Hopefully Taylor Swift can keep “Despacito” from breaking the record. Which of her previous songs debuted at #1?August 28, 2017 at 1:13 pm #1202197566
Hopefully Taylor Swift can keep “Despacito” from breaking the record. Which of her previous songs debuted at #1?
Only “Shake It Off” technically, “WANEGBT” got enough airplay to debut after 3days of tracking at like #73 or something; then shot to #1 in its full first tracking week when sales were counted. I would be surprised if “Look” didn’t debut at #1 next week with its Sales, Streaming, and Airplay leads.
“Look” has hit #77 on this weeks Hot100 and Billboard has predicted it will jump to #1 next week with sales somewhere between 450-500k copies sold.

Hurl @ “Despacito” tying Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men’s record.August 29, 2017 at 2:57 am #1202197983
Despacito will rise from the dead if Tay doesn’t have staying power. Swift machine better be on full throttle.August 29, 2017 at 5:37 am #1202198044
It looks like “1-800-273-8255” is selling really well and could be a hit. So well deserved, such an important song.August 29, 2017 at 7:30 am #1202198181
If “Look What You Made Me Do” only stays at #1 for a week (for now, I mean), I think “Wild Thoughts” or “Bodak Yellow” are more likely to take the top spot the following week over “Despacito”.August 29, 2017 at 7:36 am #1202198195
Swifties better buy 13 copies daily of the song to keep it alive. It will fall next week. “Despacito” is still strong. I wonder if Luis Fonsi has planned to release an official music video for the remix, that may give it a push.August 29, 2017 at 9:38 am #1202198276
I mean yeah Taylor’s sales are going to drop, but she’s #15 on Pop radio (in 4 days) and #1 on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube. Her sales would have to plummet for her not to stay #1 for a few weeks. She’s really preforming well in other platforms.August 29, 2017 at 11:46 am #1202198341
Shape of you has just spent it’s 33rd damn week in the top ten, breaking Leann Rimes and the Chainsmokers joint record.
The song the likely drop out top ten next week and that makes sick, if a medicore song broke the record then I think it should go the full monty (at least 35 weeks) not scraping by.
