I noticed yesterday that the Christina Aguilera thread was in the top 10 discussions.

Then miraculously it was pushed back a few pages and some of Gucci’s comments were deleted.

Was this intentional? If so, then I find that pretty shady.  As moderators, you shouldn’t take personal vendettas out on posters you don’t like by acting childish. But that’s just my opinion. Any thoughts?

Some of the threads have been “moved” to page 49, and when comments are made by the ‘target’ poster, it is deleted.

And ‘ganging up’ on a particular, “hated” poster, is being encouraged and sanctioned by clapping hands.

I have been notified about all of this and, I dont want to say what I am thinking. But this particular poster has been around here longer than I have. He has every right to defend himself against group attackers and deleted posts and moved to page 49 threads.

Thank you babypook, circa 1993 and Malick (among others)!

Let me not say anything else.  Next thing you know, this post along with the Christina Aguilera thread will disappear.

I don’t post in the Music Forums, but I do look at what people like in music to get ideas on what is popular. The chaos in there created by the Moderator and others makes it an unpleasant experience. This is abuse of Moderator powers and I find it vindictive and petty.

The “Oh, poor abused Gucci” sentiment is sweet and all, but seriously: give me a break.

Gucci isn’t being “ganged” up on, and if it appears that way, then I have to say it is very much deserved.   It is amusing how people will notice the deleted posts, but totally overlook the fact that Gucci has antagonized posters here for years and vey often resorts to namecalling, such as calling all the posters here “nobodies” just a few weeks ago.  And when he was warned, proceeded to comment with another antagonizing comment.   Funny…he can apparently dish it out in droves, but when it is given back, we are supposed to apparently have a pity party for him.

Of course, what you do not know are the several complaints I have received regarding Gucci’s negative and pointed posts, which have turned people off from posting in here.  Just because he has posted here for years (so have I…being one of the very original GD posters) does not give him free reign over the forum.   How many times can one post the same comment over and over again with the sole purpose of trying to get others riled up?

When Tom asked me to be a moderator, his concern was the fact that the Grammy forum died down tremendously.  We discussed the reasons we felt it did.   Negativity by certain posters was certainly discussed.

Have posts by him been deleted?  Yes.    Has a gone a little overboard?  Sure, but the whole “I’m Gucci and I’ll post whatever I want to you bunch of nobodies” attitudes certainly warrants it just a bit.

If you all are so bothered by it, I will certainly let Gucci take over so the boards can totally become all about such insightful comments like: “Honey….this [insert anything that isn’t Xtina Aguilera] sucks <insert vomit face>”  I, on the other hand, have contributed two articles to the site that received significant traffic, try to start threads that will engage interesting discussions, and post throughout the Forums, not just the Grammy one.

I realize Gucci has his fans; that is fine.   But again, the blantant calling out of my behavior while ignoring his is interesting, to say the least.

None of his insightful, awe-inpsiring posts will be deleted again.

Gucci can be the most annoying poster on this forum. I don’t post a lot, but i read most every topic, and gucci is the same annoying person in almost every thread except Christina’s. But to just delete his/her posts is petty, and just wrong, imo. I don’t know what the forum rules are, i’m sure they’re here somewhere,  i’ve just never read them. But if gucci is breaking the rules, they should be given some type of warning, and if it persist, ban them for a period of time, and when they come back, if it continues,  make it a permanent  ban.

That’s all fine and dandy, but again, when Gucci is/was warned, his response is flippant; you can read his response to the idea of being banned–it was something along the lines of he would just create another account and we can “never get rid of Gucci.”

It may seem petty, but I guarantee some of what has been deleted prevented some major friction and arguing in the thread these past few weeks,

Anyway, it wasn’t something that was going to be forever.  I said none of his posts will be deleted anymore.   We shall see how that works out.

I generally ignore Gucci. I’m pretty sure Christina is the only artist they like. So I with her career literally on pause Gucci has the need to bash every other artist that’s not Xtina. I don’t see a need to delete post though.

I’ve been reading Gucci’s posts since I joined the site. (circa 2003)
It doesn’t matter who the poster is, a moderator who deletes someones posts and moves threads around for reasons of personal dislike is not a good moderator.

Well, apparently you have missed quite a few of them then.  Conveniently the ones where he has personally attacked posters it seems, as the posts that were were removed were not all done so simply because of “personal dislike.”

And we will let Tom determine whether I have been a good moderator or not.   Thanks for the concern.

Yes, we agree that this is Tom’s decision
However an immature and vindictive moderator (yourself) lends nothing to enhancing this wonderful site.
I am a member of this community and it is my concern.  I frequently visit the music threads and usually find them informative and enjoyable.

Not going to continue to argue with you.   However, I made it perfectly clear in my initial response in this thread the reasoning behind some of the posts being deleted.

Again, I have posted at GD since way back in 2001 and have contributed many informative posts, threads, and articles to this site.   Namecall all you want, but I am sure you will find several people who agree with that.    But, again, point out a few deleted posts while blatantly ignoring the instigating, namecalling, and repetitive/multiple posts that initiated the posts being deleted.  Alrighty then.

And I have made Tom aware of the situation.

Yes indeed. The behaviour displayed was inexcusable. Thankfully Circa had the courage to start this thread and other users were willing to speak up. Now, maybe, just maybe, this ridiculous incident can become a thing of the past.

Wow. I have never seen some people overreact; a few posts were deleted. They were purposely antagonistic and it was only one poster’s posts. I warned him it was coming. I haven’t moved any threads so not even sure where that accusation is coming from. That is inexcusable, but name calling isn’t? Seriously? Courage to speak up? Ya’all are acting like I’m controlling this forum much more than I am.

And apparently going by the number of thumbs up my original response, many are supportive. The forum hasn’t changed. People are still posting. We are trying to get some engaging topics and discussions going.

Anyway, think what you will. This is the last time I respond to the name calling and hyperbole being spouted off here. I alerted Tom of this thread; we will see how he wants to proceed.
