The new documentary, “Amy,” just opened in limited release to rave reviews and boffo box office.
Among the most riveting moments are the scenes that show the singer after her disc “Back to Black” won five Grammys in 2008. Three years later, she was dead of alcohol poisoning at just 27.
The filmmaker, Asif Kapadia, holds an Oscars IOU for his 2011 BAFTA-winning “Senna,” which profiled Ayrton Senna, the Formula 1 champ who died at age 34.
I absoluteky LOVE what Asif did with Senna… That’s one of my favorite documentaries ever (and I don’t even like racing haha). Really looking forward to this one! Was a big fan of Amy 🙁
She had a problem and it wasn’t success.
