Are there any artists that you listen that aren’t well known and you want to introduce them to a new audience? Write down any artist or song you think people should listen to. Give them a chance, it may surprise you. The next indie artist to break through could be the same as a someone that recommended that “cool indie artist from britain with an awesome song called Chasing Pavements” a few years back.

Years & Years is about to release their debut album and I’m very excited about it. Unfortunately, “Kings” is not doing very well in the US (it hit #01 in the UK earlier this year)… I was hoping for it to blow up so they could be more viable contenders at next year’s Grammy.

    Love Years & Years. Also:

Alex Winston (indie pop, I guess)
    ODESZA (electronic)
    Galantis (electronic)
Melanie Martinez (pop? was on The Voice Season 3)
    Ella Eyre (pop R&B)
Jess Glynne (pop soul? girl from Rather Be)
Pentatonix (acapella group, covers and originals, just won a Grammy)
James Blake (electronic, “alternative R&B”, nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammys last year)
Alina Baraz & Galimatias (she wrote lyrics to a song he put online, now they’re partners)
    CHVRCHES (electronic, synthpop)
    Broods (electropop?)
Kelsea Ballerini (country-pop, think Taylor circa Fearless and Speak Now)

100% agree with Years & Years. If you’re not listening to them yet, YOU NEED TO BE!

Other relatively new artists I’ve been into this year:

    Shamir (<3<3<3<3)
    Leon Bridges
    MNEK
    Allie X
    Jarryd James
    Powers
    Saint Motel
    Made in Heights
    Galantis

Vince Staples!!! Summertime ’06 is one of the best albums of 2015 so far IMO. Hope he is able to make some noise and get on the Grammy radar.

I’m going crazy over Tori Kelly! “Shoulda Been Us” is everything, bitches! Time to enter her into the Best New Artist convo.

CHVRCHES. I know they have a very established fanbase, but they haven’t broken into the mainstream. Their new song might be a bit too gritty for pop radio, but its still great nonetheless.

I’m surprised Tori Kelly isn’t bigger than she is.

Alessia Cara SLAYED her “Tonight Show” performance last night: http://www.ew.com/article/2015/07/30/alessia-cara-here-fallon

She’s releasing a five-track EP on August 28th, so she’d be BNA eligible at the Grammys. I can see “Here” blowing up in a “Royals”-style fashion (maybe not as big, but both artists are young introverts with inventive breakthrough singles). Totally on board with her.
