I myself love seeing artists perform live. It is a true testament to their artistry that is grossly undervalued today.
I’m not a fan of the overly theatrical stuff, so the fewer fireworks and celeb cameos the better.
Some of my favorites have been:
Florence and the Machine recently has been killing it.
Kelly Clarkson’s Stronger Tour was vocally her best. The covers were awesome too.
Alabama Shakes, obviously.
CHVRCHES wins for most improved. I saw them yesterday and they improved greatly the last time they were in NYC two years ago.
Kacey Musgraves. Her voice may not be big, but it has a ton of personality.
James Blake, Arctic Monkeys and Coldplay also come to mind.
I love to hear my most favorite singer James Otto live because the precious sings with everything that is inside of him. (smiles)
God bless you and him always!!!
P.S. Go here for my newest favorite of his live performances. (smiles)

James Blake. The Overgrown concert is one of the finest I’ve witnessed.
Back in day, I attended the Mad Love tour. Linda Ronstadt nailed it. It was final performance of eight sold out nights at the then Universal Ampitheatre in LA. After the encore she invited the audience to stay. She told us the wait would be about 45 minutes. True to her word she came out in comfy clothes and shoes a little less than an hour later. She said she was working on new material and would like to try it out. There with a piano accompaniment she sang the standards from What’s New. It was a magical night.
