What are some of  your favorite songs from albums you enjoy that were NOT released as singles?

Sorry for going really obscure, but the first Dexy’s Midnight Runners album, “Searching for the Young Soul Rebels” is easily among my favourite albums, and I find I actually prefer the opening tracks “Burn it Down” and “Tell me when my Light Turns Green” to the singles from the album “Geno” and “Keep it”. The other two singles, “Plan B” and “Thankfully not living in Yorkshire, it doesn’t apply” are also great, but they weren’t as well received as singles (especially compared to “Come on Eileen”)

Janet Jackson had great CDs that had singles that could have possibly hit the Top Ten or even #1.  From janet. “This Time,” “What’ll I Do,” and “New Agenda” were very strong, with the first two possibly going to #1.    From All for You, “Come on Get Up” and “Trust a Try” would definitely have been in the Top Ten, or even go to #1.

Listening to Pharrell’s “GIRL” album and love the tracks “Brand New” & “Lost Queen”. Also “Marliyn Monroe” would’ve be a better choice for a single than “Come Get It Bae”. “Brand New” sounds fresh with the horns & JT in the background. “Lost Queen” kinda feels like a song that would’ve been used in the Lion King.

Rock music nowadays seem abandoned & neglected, but Kings Of Leon’s “Beautiful War” from their “MECHANICAL BULL” album will definitely change your mind. With things going on in the world today, people need to take a listen to this song.

I have so many favorite singers that I could go forever on this subject so I will stick with my most favorite James Otto for now. (smiles)

    1.) “Dam* Right”
    2.) “Lets Just Let Go”
    3.) “Never Say Good Bye”
    4.) “The Bigger The Caddy”
    5.) “I Got Your Back”
    6.) “Wide Open”
7.) “The Blues Can’t Find Me Here”
    8.) “Bad Reputation”
9.) “You Don’t Act Like My Woman”
10.) “For You” (This did go to radio but sadly it never went passed the #39 slot which to me is bull crap because this song and the way that James sings it is awesome.)

God bless you and James and my other favorite singers always!!!
