Sorry if this thread was made already but I can’t find it.

Anyways have any of you listened to the album? I am some great things about it. I am in love with “Shake it Out” sounds like a ROTY contender to me.

I listened to this album last night. I don’t know if it’s better than Lungs, but it’s a good listen.

Great new album, I think it might be better than Lungs, imo. It’s much more soulful, but i think its much better written and the screaming is pretty much gone. Breaking Down, Lover to Lover, and Never Let Me go are great listens

this. her lyricism is impeccable. production wise it’s not up to par with Lungs, but it’s her writing that is truly captivating.

I know she submitted “Cosmic Love” (my favorite of hers!) to pop solo performance, though did she submit anything off her new album?

I completely agree, i still think that the production is great. It seems more natural than on Lungs and almost intament at some parts. Which is weird for Florence because most of her songs are more like epics. And if she truley breaks out this year i thinks she could be a big contender at the grammys.(I don’t consider Dog Days a breakout because it didn’t really translate into anything , besides commericals)

This album is AMAZING! It’s too early to tell, but this could be a masterpiece. The production, lyrics and Flo’s voice are impeccable. She really dug deep here. I’ll post a full review soon, but “Never Let Me Go,” “What the Water Gave Me,” “Seven Devils” and a few others are epic.

This is exactly what I’m talking about. This is real music, folks. She went hard on this one. Seems like she really dug deep and came up with some terrific songs. Unlike many of her peers, Flo actually has something to say in her music.

This album is far better than her debut.

omg I’m so excited to hear this album now!! I love Florence soo much and “Lungs” is still a favorite of mine. Florence deserved to get into the GF last year with “Dog Days Are Over.” Hopefully she will break through with “Shake it Out!”

Does anyone think that “Cosmic Love” has a shot at Pop solo??

Agreed. This is way better than her debut, which really only had a handful (basically the singles) of good tracks. This is a fantastic album.

I think this is a more coherent album, and a much stronger listen because of that. While I do believe she can go even beyond what this album does (“Remain Nameless”, a bonus track, shows how far she can go with her music), the execution itself is almost perfect, and the lyrics really are very captivating.

For me, besides “Shake it Out”, the album stand out is “Breaking Down”. It’s a sprawling melody, almost Christmas song-like, with a more understaded (but still powerful) vocal performance, and the chorus is magnificent. I also love “Only If For a Night”, “Seven Devils”, “Lover to Lover”, “What The Water Gave Me” (obviously) and “Remain Nameless” (that I still can’t believe it was only a bonus track in the deluxe edition, for it is fantastic)

As much as I’m not a big fan of “Never Let Me Go” like most people, I still don’t know how she didn’t choose that one to be the next single. It’s an instant hit, and it’s even similar to some Adele songs, so it has huge crossover potential.

In fact, the actual third single, “No Light, No Light” is not one of my favorites either, but it lacks the same anthemic potential of “Never Let Me Go” to succeed with mainstream audiences.

Anyway, I just hope “Breaking Down” and “Only If For a Night” get to be single at some point just so we can have videos for those two, lol.
