The last Grammy pop thread has become quite long (and nonsensical) so I thought I’d start this thread for a hotly contested Grammy. Here are my predictions:

    Work – Rihanna f/ Drake
One Dance – Drake f/ Wizkid & Kyla
    Heathens – Twenty One Pilots
Starboy – The Weeknd f/ Daft Punk
Hymn for the Weekend – Coldplay

    Heathens – Twenty One Pilots
Starboy – The Weeknd f/ Daft Punk
Hymn for the Weekend – Coldplay

Two things: First One Dance was only submitted in the general field and Second Twenty One Pilots submitted Stressed Out for Pop Duo/Group and Heathens for rock performance

I think there will be six nominees:
    The Chainsmokers feat. Halsey, “Closer”
    Coldplay, “Hymn for the Weekend”
Fifth Harmony feat. Ty Dolla $ign, “Work from Home”
    Lukas Graham, “7 Years”
Sia feat. Sean Paul, “Cheap Thrills”
    Twenty One Pilots, “Stressed Out”

For me, it goes like this

Side to Side – Ariana Grande feat. Nicki Minaj
Work From Home – Fifth Harmony feat. Ty Dolla $sing
    7 Years – Lukas Graham
Hymn for the Weeknd – Coldplay
Cheap Thrills – Sia feat. Sean Paul

Congrats on predicting all the nominees!

No one seems to be talking about this, so I figured I’d bring it up. I think this will be the category where they reward “7 Years”, as it fits the mold with the past winners. I’m gonna say the Work loses here simply for being the only track that wasn’t on “cross-over” radio.

Spoiler: Cheap Thrills (also a huge cross-over hit)

Those fun pop collaborations rarely ever win, so it will be a fight between “Stressed Out” and “7 Years.” “7 Years” is what “Say Something” was + more: trite and a ROTY/SOTY nominee. It’ll win here.

Congrats on predicting all the nominees!

    Thanks, dear!

This category is always easy to predict. Although hitting #1, Sia & Sean Paul’s track is very forgettable. The Chainsmokers had a huge hit, but that is not always a factor in this category. Despite scoring a ROTY nomination, Twenty One Pilots will get overlooked. “Work” also scored a ROTY nomination; but the song is too lightweight. ROTY and SOTY nominees Lukas Graham have a bland little number that will win. I don’t care who wins here.

SHOULD WIN” Rihanna feat. Drake, “Work”
WILL WIN: Lukas Graham, “7 Years”

5 very annoying songs, the least annoying, Cheap Thrills, should easily win this, but won’t. (Featuring Sean Paul makes it annoying, it should’ve stayed with the original version and be nominated/win with that). She was robbed with Chandelier, Sam Smith shouldn’t have won ROTY and SOTY, so let her get this one.

    Will win: Lukas Graham
Should win: Sia feat. Sean Paul

    Should Win: Work
    Will Win: Work

7 Years being in ROTY/SOTY means nothing. Work is i ROTY. It not being in SOTY is justified.

Look at Uptown Funk winning last year. THe biggest hit nominated is Work so Work wins here.

Sia is annoying all on her own. She needed Sean Paul to give her song the push it needs because no one isnt gonna buy a reggae-tinged song from a white woman from Australia. Hence, why she wrote it for Rihanna in the first place. You people give Ms. Furler way too much.

Work will win without a doubt, I’m quite sure this one she has on lock. I’ve noticed people on here have been giving Sia A LOT lol. I recall people saying Cheap Thrills would get a general field nom before Work and look how that turned out.

Closer was a bigger song than Work, so by that logic it would win.

Closer wasn’t nominated. 7 years has more broad appeal than Work. It’s a lesser Stay With Me/Say Something, but similar enough to win.

@smurty11, unless you’re talking about ROTY, “Closer” is nominated for Pop Duo/Group.
