Are there any Grammy contenders few are talking about who you think are being grossly underestimated?

I pray that my most favorite singer James Otto has not seen his last Grammy award nomination already.

God bless you and him always!!!

    Holly

P.S. So far James has two of them and they were for Best Male Country Performance and Best Country Song in early 2009.

Go here to check out my most favorite singer James Otto!

Alabama Shakes – I know they’re in the conversastion, but I see them getting into AOTY + SOTY + Rock categories. Grammy voters have solidified their adoration over the past 2 years.

Carly Rae Jepsen – in terms of Pop Vocal Album. I think she’ll be nominated. The producers and songwriters for the album are previous Grammy nominees.

Unfortunately I think people are underestimating Foo Fighters’ history with the Grammys. While I don’t think they deserve an AOTY nomination this year (Sonic Highways was VERY mediocre), every one of their albums since 1998 has been nominated for at LEAST a Rock Album Grammy, with the latest 2 albums (from 2008 and 2012) receiving AOTY nominations. I hate to say it, I think they’ll be nominated. Though I much prefer Alabama Shakes’ Sound & Color.

For me Mumford And Sons, Wilder Mind is not their best album, but i think the could get the Rock Album nomination. Believe is one of my favorites songs of this year, i would love to see it on ROTY

Don’t be surprised if Diplo ends up with 4 or 5 nominations combined from his work with Major Lazer, Jack U & Madonna

I believe 1989 will get two AOTY nominations, one for Taylor, one for Ryan.

I may be doing a little wishful thinking but I feel like Kelly Clarkson can get in Pop Album for “Piece by Piece” and has an outside shot at Pop Solo nom for “Heartbeat Song”.

I still think something like a “Fight Song” has an outside shot at song or record. Any generic uplifting song along the lines of “Roar” or “Stronger.”
