Whatever that song was that beat Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day” for Best Pop Collaboration.

Janelle Monae’s brilliant “The ArchAndroid” losing Best Contemporary R&B Album to that extremely mediocre Usher album.

Rehab winning Female pop vocal Performance over Candyman.
Candyman was a superior track and Vocal. I love Amy but she only won because she was nominated for nearly everything

    – Steely Dan’s album win over Eminem.
    – Alison Krauss and Robert Plant’s sweep
    – Ray Charles and Norah Jones winning ROTY for Here We Go Again
    – Herbie Hancock’s album win for The Joni Letters

In each instance I felt the Grammys just getting in their own way in terms of credibilty.

Fun. winning Best New Artist over Frank Ocean

Steely Dan winning Album of the Year over Radiohead

“Clocks” winning Record of the Year over decade-best tracks like “Crazy in Love”, “Hey Ya!”, and “Lose Yourself”

Train’s “Hey Soul Sister” winning Pop Group.  Sure, all the nominees weren’t the best that year, but calling this a Grammy-winning track makes me angry.

I was not a happy Holly when the Best Country Album award went to Fly from the Dixie Chicks over Forget About It from Alison Krauss in early 2000. I was also not a happy Holly when the Best Female Country Performance award went to Carrie Underwood over Alison in early 2008.

God bless you and Alison always!!!

Holly (a fan of her for 20 years now)

    P.S. Its okay though. Carrie’s 6 and the Chick’s 13 don’t even come close to Alison’s 27. (big smile)
