Do you think the Grammys will recognize the biggest David vs. Goliath story in years?
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are the first duo to ever release an album and song on their own and go to #1 in almost 20 years in Billboard history.
They are West coast’s rapping duo with opinions in their songs that are almost against the hiphop culture:
“Thrift shop” – a satire on the extravagance/ buying culture in hiphop
“Can’t hold us” – a nod to their independent rise
“Same love” – anti-homophobia
“The Heist”, parent album, was a success. And with “Can’t hold us” going to #1, and “Same love” as an impending hit in the making, “The Heist” could very well make another rebound to the top.
What do you think of their Grammy chances?
Locked in the GF, maybe in all four categories, Ryan Lewis set to lead the nominations, JT better watch out!
