I have seen a lot of discussion weather Fancy is a pop song or rap song. Her biggest hits feature pop singers to sing the the hook, so does that make her music pop or rapJanuary 9, 2015 at 2:22 pm #407920
I think she’s pretty awful. The New Classic was my worst album of 2014 (out of the eighty-five that I listened to).January 9, 2015 at 2:29 pm #407921

I think she is both.January 10, 2015 at 5:08 pm #407928
She is both. Every genre has a pop-leaning subgenre. Country Pop, Dance-pop, Pop-Rock; Pop rap is no different.January 12, 2015 at 1:52 pm #407929
The genre of sales. I can’t call it rap.
It reminds me all the discussions of Taylor Swift country-pop genre. At least, that was good. I can’t say the same thing for Azelea’s music.January 12, 2015 at 3:47 pm #407930
She’s both as some have already said. Kinda like Nicki really, except Iggy hasn’t released full on urban singles officially/under a major label yet (would probably not get much support now anyway). Iggy IS a rapper though, she raps in all her songs so her music is most definitely rap.
Her debut album is pop rap, it’s clear her idea was definitely to get that mainstream crossover/top 40 appeal with it however she has way harder stuff in her career catalogue (mixtape material, etc.)January 12, 2015 at 6:52 pm #407931
She has even said herself in an interview that she thinks of herself as rap-pop. She is kinda like Nicki Minaj during her Super Bass and Starships days.
I wonder if she will ever pull a Taylor Swift and officially switch to pop, or be like Nicki and start doing more urban music in her future albums.
