Any thoughts?December 25, 2015 at 1:03 pm #415533
I guess Katy wont release anything before summer and Gaga before spring tho she might release something on February and promote them at the Grammys and Golden GlobesDecember 25, 2015 at 5:56 pm #415534
If anything I think JT and Bruno will probably release their albums after the deadline if they care about the Grammys. If they do release it after the deadline, it’s either for that reason or the product is ready. As for Katy Perry, she’ll do things differently than her failed rehash of the success of Teenage Dream. It was successful but very underwhleming. She’ll come back strong. Lady Gaga might get the comeback that she wanted in 2016. Might be better than the Born This Way era.December 25, 2015 at 5:59 pm #415535
I’m excited to know what Bruno Mars has been preparing for nearly four years of his last album.
I would like if Pink and Christina also release some new music.
I think Katy will not release anything before August
I really want Gaga to use her nominations for the Grammys and Golden Globes and the possible Oscar nomination to promote some new music .
I’d love if she premieres her lead single at the Grammys and the album in May like she did with born this way.
what I want most is that she and her team do the things planned and wisely this time.December 25, 2015 at 6:12 pm #415536
Aren’t Lorde and Ed also releasing in 2016, though probably after the Grammy deadline.. Taylor usually releases every 2 years, but this time she might take a 3 year break or something.December 25, 2015 at 7:06 pm #415537
Excited about JT and Bruno and Gaga, but I think Katy Perry is extremely overrated. Pretty much all her songs are the same bubblegum pop junk and she never takes chances. Some of her songs are pretty decent though like “Firework” and “Teenage Dream”.December 25, 2015 at 7:37 pm #415538
Excited for JT and Bruno.
I don’t know what Gaga will do given that EDM pop is not a thing anymore. She has pretty much marginated her fanbase, and she suffered more attrition during the Artpop era.
I don’t know about Katy too. I think she just got lucky with Roar and Dark horse. Her bubblegum pop didn’t work for the rest of the Prism era.December 25, 2015 at 7:51 pm #415539
I think Taylor will release in October I fully believe she likes working, what kind of album she releases next I have no clue. But I’m most excited for Gaga she learned from Artpop and I think she’ll put out the album of her career.December 25, 2015 at 8:32 pm #415540
“The Voice of Her Generation” is set to return in 2016. The LEGENDARY Christina Aguilera.December 25, 2015 at 9:47 pm #415541
Why do people say “era” when they mean “album”? It’s not like they suddenly learned how to craft weapons from bronze or mastered astronomy? It’s a frickin product of marketing for f’s sake!December 26, 2015 at 5:13 am #415542
The Album comes accompanied with a new sound ( usually) , a new look ( usually) , and a new message (usually). And so is a set of things that we can call a new era for that artist ( musically speaking ).
2015 was a kinda boring but 2016 looks pretty exciting so far with Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Justin T, Christina, Britney,Rihanna, Ed, Sam, Ariana, Panic at the Disco!, Sia, Gwen Stefani, Iggy, Major Lazer and probably Taylor Swift, Beyonce and Nicki Minaj.
It seems a year full of great musicians like in 2011December 26, 2015 at 5:17 am #415543
although probably many of them will not release new music until October to avoid compete against Adele at the Grammys 2017December 26, 2015 at 5:57 am #415544
So basically it’s a self important way to describe a bunch of marketing? Yeah, still sounds idiotic.December 26, 2015 at 6:04 am #415545

Well “Era” means a span in time marked by events. I say “era” because multiple things can happen during the time of an albums run that has nothing to do with the album like Adele winning her Oscar during her “21” era.
Taylor Swift pretty much changes everything with each album her look and sound is always different. A lot can happen during a artist era. I mean it not like the word has another meaning (E.R.A. is a baseball term), people use it correctly.December 26, 2015 at 6:24 am #415546
“ERA” is in my top things I hate the most about GoldDerby. It might be said in many other places but I only read it here and it’s annoying as hell. Yes, it sounds idiotic.
I wouldn’t call it self important because it doesn’t seem like something an artist came up with, rather all the fanboys thinking it’s a bigger, more dramatic way/word to describe their favorites new album. Let’s never forget that annoying things don’t really happen because of the artists themselves, but because of the fans. I’ve been around here long enough to know that this whole stupid term started, of course, why not?, when the biggest fanboy-ed artists came around: Gaga, Katy, Taylor, Adele.
Anyway, all of these people have a lot to prove. All of them (with the possible exception of Mars) failed a bit or completely with their last album. And l still find it hilarious that Rihanna never actually released that album.
