When you make the news because you post a photo of yourself peeing, it is time to rethink your career. Sure, she is hosting the MTV VMAs at the end of the month but people will be tuning in hoping for a car crash.
What advice would you give this one-time chart-topping talent.
Frankly, I think she’s at the point in her career that she can’t escape the spotlight that she’s brought upon herself. If she wants to go back to having the best of both worlds, then she should continue to follow the Britney Spears career path, by releasing an album then not having a tour but instead signing a contract for a long-term Las Vegas show. Then, after a few years, when she may have had time to recover from the fame overdose she can come back as a more mature artist that we’ve seen the occasional glimpse of. I liked her performance on SNL 40 for example. If she evolves in that direction, then I think she can actual remain relevant for many years, instead of burning out.

She just recently (for her last album) had her very first #1 hit, was just nominated for her first Grammy award, has received more critical acclaim than any time in her past, and just won the VOTY VMA last year. Sure, she gains some publicity for her more “risque” behavior, but she’s also gained a tremendous amount of publicity for speaking out (very eloquently, I may add) on social issues such as transgender rights, same-sex marriage, homeless youth awareness, etc. She’s a very outspoken celebrity, but has never been more acclaimed or successful, so I don’t see why we’re discussing when she will be “reduced to a reality show”. She’s making smart decisions for the most part and seems to be pretty in control of her media image.
Sidenote – are you all just trying to see how many of these “click-bait” type articles you can start on a daily basis now? Most of the topics have gotten pretty nonsensical and seem to be reaching pretty hard.
She can go a little too far sometimes, but I like how she is who she wants to be and she doesn’t care what people think. I also like how she uses the attention to bring awareness to important issues. I don’t think she will be “reduced to a reality show”, or at least not any time soon.
She definately has proved she has the goods to be taken seriously as herself and broke out of the Hannah Montana/Disney mold so I think she can act a little more….normal now lol. Saying that, dont think she will be on reality tv anytime soon.
