We always feel like a song or album by our favorite singer deserved more Grammy recognition, tell me which are the missing Grammy nominations from yours!

Please, try to include material that did have or could have had a chance. For example:

    Lady Gaga:
2010: Best New Artist (Ineligible), Best Female Pop Vocal Performance: Paparazzi (Probably was not submitted), Best Short Form Music Video: Paparazzi.
2011: Song/Record Of The Year: Bad Romance.
2012: Song/ Record Of The Year: The Edge Of Glory (Not submitted)
2013: Best Long Form Music Video: Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square Garden (Not submitted probably)
2014: Best Pop Solo Performance: Applause, Best Music Video: Applause.
2015: Best Pop Duo/Group Performance: Do What U Want, Best Pop Vocal Album: Artpop.

Not something like: Song Of The Year: G.U.Y, Album Of The Year: Artpop.

I just can’t understand how Lady GaGa missed ROTY and SOTY nominations for “Bad Romance.” It’s more frustrating that she should have been Best New Artist, yet couldn’t even land the nomination (I saw the Zac Brown Band at the Piedmont Park Music Festival in Atlanta last year, and they were so solid that it made them winning when she wasn’t even nominated sting less).

Lorde missed a nom for Best New Artist.

And of course Lana Del Rey, who’s been snubbed by the Grammys and VMAs so many times that I’ve lost count, plus snubbed at the Oscars of two wins (“Young and Beautiful” from The Great Gatsby and “I Can Fly” from Big Eyes) and about five nominations. What do these awards shows have against her?

It’s worst that they nominated Nothing On You over it, Bad Romance is an iconic piece of work. Not to be and obssesive Gaga fan, but it’s one of the biggest song of the past 10 years, nobody remembers NOY. Even Just They Way You Are would have been a more worthy nominee.

And yes, Lana has been snubbed badly. Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album (Born To Die and Ultraviolence, as both were submitted there), and even Best Pop Solo for Video Games. So sad.

    Madonna:

    ROTY: Hung Up
AOTY: Confessions On A Dance Floor
    SOTY: Frozen

    Bjork:

    AOTY: Post, Homogenic
Best Song Written for Visual Media: I’ve Seen It All

    Lana Del Rey:

    Best New Artist
Best Pop Vocal Album: Born To Die, Ultraviolence (It was submitted in pop, sadly)
Best Pop Solo Performance: Video Games
And just pure fanaticism: Best Music Video: National Anthem.

“Whiskey Lullaby” was never in there for the Best Country Collaboration award. “Make The World Go Away” from Jamey Johnson and Alison Krauss was never acknowledged in anyway either which is why Alison is still sitting at 27 Grammy award wins.

God bless you and her and Jamey always!!!

Holly (a fan of Alison since 1994)

P.S. Go here for a complete list of her Grammy award nominations and wins.

I’ll add a new one that hasn’t been mentioned….Loretta Lynn – Van Lear Rose – Album of the Year: this one I just don’t get. It almost feels like a winner considering the people that were winning AOTY a couple of years before and after this snub. It’s an amazing album and it deserved more Grammys than the two (I think) it won. ROTY for Portland, Oregon would’ve been a worthy contender.

I never have enough memory for these threads so I always go by what’s been mentioned already… (not necessarily my favorite artists…)

Lady Gaga – Bad Romance for ROTY. Pretty ridiculous snub. Gaga is not a favorite of mine, but common, this was a huge hit and a very worthy contender, much more than Poker Face. And to make things worse, it actually looked and felt like a lock. (Do What U Want is an amazing song, but it never had a shot).

Justin Timberlake – Mirrors for ROTY and SOTY. Another unbelievable one. I know, understand and support the backlash that Part II of 20/20 caused, but it didn’t need to extend all the way to his most deserved nomination and WIN.

Phillip Phillips – Home – Pop Vocal Solo. I believe this was the first year of the Pop Solo category, so combining male and female clearly hurt him. He should’ve been nominated easily and probably would have been nominated and won for Pop Male.

Big Girls Don’t Cry could be a hit today. It seems weird it didn’t make it in ROTY, but I don’t remember how things went that year.

I almost wanna ask why Katy Perry was not elegible for BNA. I think I knew at some point, I just really forgot.

Whitney Houston & Deborah Cox – Same Script, Different Cast – R&B Duo or Group – 2000

    Whitney Houston – Million Dollar Bill – R&B Female – 2009

    Deborah Cox – Nobody’s Supposed To Be Here – R&B Female – 1998

    Katy Perry was never ineligible for Best New Artist. She was on the entry list in 2008 (the year Adele won). She just didn’t get nominated.{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Everybody Hurts” is such an REM classic for me. Grammys loved them in their heyday, but this song wasn’t nominated for Record or Song of the Year. Was it nominated for anything?
