Who do you guys think are the most underrated AOTY winners ever?
Raising Sand by Robert Plant and Allison Krauss immediately comes to mind. Also, Speakerboxxx/ The Love Below & Taking the Long Way.
Honey, OutKast’s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below and the Dixie Chicks’ Taking The Long Way are far from underrated.
Babel by Mumford and Sons. The album has really beautiful lyrics and melodies throughout and I’d argue it was more deserving of the win than any of the other contenders besides Channel Orange by Frank Ocean. It would’ve been my second choice, but I certainly don’t think it is one of the worst wins ever like many other people on here have said.
Fearless. Many people to this day hate on that album. But come on it was the best out of who she was up against. Plus it is great country pop record. Also the best seller of the year. Easing Sand is another underrated album.
It’s probably because of where my tastes are leaning towards, but Christoper Cross by Christopher Cross. That album has not aged well, but it has pretty good songwriting, and Cross has a fairly nice voice.
