Might be a little too early, but does anyone have an idea on who may or may not get nods?

Anaconda should get in somewhere and Blank Space is definitely a VotY contender.

I can see Break the Rules by Charli XCX making into Pop Video.

“Thinking Out Loud” is a front-runner for a Choreography nomination.

It’s also a possible nominee for Male Video.

I could see Only getting Hip Hop and Collaboration nods. Maybe a few tech awards.

Does Meghan Trainor have a chance to be nominated for Artist to Watch even though she got famous this year

“Uptown Funk” should be a contender for Best Collaboration.

Anybody think U2 has any shot this year?  MTV did premiere “The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone)” online, but was the song popular enough?  Though with the rock category they do often seem to grasping at straws to come up with at least a couple of well-known nominees (even if they weren’t that successful).

Rihanna, Adele, Katy Perry, Meghan Trainor, Ariana Grande, etc. will get nominated. Sam Smith, Austin Mahone, Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson, Nick Jonas, Usher, Pitbull, etc will get nominations for Male Video. One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer, Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5, will get nominations. Fifth Harmony, Madonna, and others are debatable.

For an MTV show, this could potentially be a really entertaining show, especially if there’s a strong release schedule the first part of the year. With so many artists shelving their projects from the end of 2014 to next year it’ll be interesting to see who gets in on this show.

So at the moment, I feel like video of the year is between “Blank Space” and “Uptown Funk”.

Anything is possible. If it is true, then I won’t complain.
