My money is on the On The Run concert film that will be on HBO to win Best Music Film. Looks like it’ll be a nice production.

    some thoughts:

BEST SONG WRITTEN FOR VISUAL MEDIA

    surprises:
none, but actually the biggest surprise is the biggest snub (U2). it’s fantastic to see Glen Campbell’s song here!

    snubees:
U2 – Ordinary Love [from “Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom”]
Lorde – Yellow Flicker Beat [from “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1”]
Adam Levine – Lost Stars [from “Begin Again”]
Alicia Keys ft. Kendrick Lamar – It’s On Again [from “The Amazing Spiderman 2”]

BEST COMPILATION SOUNDTRACK FOR VISUAL MEDIA

    surprises:
    none.

    snubees:
    there
were many great contenders this year vying for the spot here but I guess many people expected The Fault In Our Stars to show up here.

BEST SCORE SOUNDTRACK FOR VISUAL MEDIA

    surprises:
    none.

    snubees:
    again, there
were many great contenders this year vying for the spot here but the biggest snubs have to be Golden Globe or Oscar winners/nominees in the Score category last year, like those mentioned below
Alex Ebert – All Is Lost
    Hans Zimmer – 12 Years a Slave
John Williams – The Book Thief
William Butler & Owen Pallett – Her

I’m also surprised “Ordinary Love” didn’t make it in.  Frozen seems positioned to make a clean sweep in this field.

especially when “Everything is AWESOME!!!” is nominated over it…

Shame the Destiny Soundtrack wasn’t nominated for Score Soundtrack for Visual Media.
