Name an artist, a song or an album that your surprised didn’t get nominated for a Grammy. For Me:

I’m really surprised Kenny Chesney has never been nominated for a Grammy. He seems right up NARAS’ alley and he has won many country music awards like CMA, ACM and TCM.

Also, ABBA. Not even the Dancing Queen or Mamma Mia mustered any nominations.

Daniel Bedingfieid’s “If You’re Not The One” surpisingly didn’t even garner a Best Male Pop Vocal Performance nod. The Grammys usual eat up that smaltzy pop ballad about love.

Vertical Horizon’s Everything You Want. That seem likes a track NARAS’ would like.

Kenny Chesney may have never been nominated for a solo Grammy, but he has received three Grammy nominations to date.

I was surprised that Alicia Keys’ As I Am didn’t receive any album nods. Ditto for 808’s & Heartbreak, although that was a bit more understandable.

I’m surprised John Mayer never got nominated for anything after 2009’s underwhelming Battle Studies. His last two albums (Born & Raised; Paradise Valley), while different from the pop-jazz-rock sound he crafted in his earlier days, were very very good and some of my personal favorites.

Also surprised that Passion Pit never received a nomination. Seem like they’d be a great for the Alternative category or BNA a few years ago.

While I may not enjoy their music personally, I’m a bit surprised that One Direction never got a BNA nomination. If Justin Bieber can get Grammy nominations, why not 1D?

    Surprising snubs imo:

Deborah Cox “Nobody Suppose to Be Here” for R&B Female Vocal Performance
Tamia “Stranger in My House” for R&B Female Vocal Performance
T.I. feat. Rihanna “Live Your Life” for Rap/Sung Collaboration
Keith Sweat, Jodeci, Phyllis Hyman, Chante Moore, Deborah Cox, and  Alexander O’Neal not receiving a single Grammy nomination
