I couldn’t find another Carrie Underwood thread, so I thought I would start this one.
Carrie Underwood has just released her first solo single in 2 years to radio, titled “Something in the Water”.
The song will be off of her upcoming album Greatest Hits: Decade 1 set to hit stores on December 9th.

Funny that when her album first came out, I only kept some of the songs, and I didn’t keep either of her last 2 single choices (“Two Black Cadillacs” or “See You Again”).September 30, 2014 at 7:27 pm #388407

Love love love this single !!!!!September 30, 2014 at 10:52 pm #388409
One of the best voices in the industry. This is literally the perfect single for a greatest hits compilation.October 1, 2014 at 11:01 am #388410
The song itself is just sort of there. It’s where it belongs on a greatest hits compilation instead of a proper new album release, b/c lyrically, it’s not much to it at all. But vocally, Carrie absolutely kills it! OMG! Go ahead and pencil this in for Country Solo Performance.October 2, 2014 at 8:06 pm #388411
It makes perfect sense to finish the decade in music with a pop country-christian song just like how she started with Jesus, Take the Wheel, but still able to reach a larger audience.
Its still #3 on iTunes! That’s remarkable for an artist this far into her career.
She may not be a great artist, but her voice is out of this world.August 25, 2015 at 7:13 pm #388412
My Goodness, I had to dig back all the way to Page 20 of the Music forum to locate this thread! Alas, I found it!
So I listened to Carrie’s new single and it is AWESOME! Just purchased it from iTunes. “Smoke Break” is the perfect follow-up to “Something in the Water” (still over-the-moon about her Grammy win!), with equally powerful vocals, a great set of lyrics and wonderful touches of country twang and instrumentation. I have a hunch she may just have another winner in her hands!
Can’t wait for Carrie’s upcoming album, Storyteller, out October 23! GO CARRIE!!!August 29, 2015 at 6:01 pm #388413
Weak lead single. Her weakest ever.
